Whey protein isolate meal replacement results

Has anyone tried substituting a meal with a whey protein isolate shake? And did you see any good weight loss results from it?
I've been reading up on using it as a breakfast substitute and it's supposed to deliver good results.

ANYTHING that creates a calorie deficit will deliver good results. There's nothing magical about protein shakes. Don't over complicate something this easy. Log your food to make sure you eat less than you burn. Avoid fads and other nonsense.
Good luck.2 -
Whey isolate is a fast digesting protein, so it wont hold you for long. If you're going to use a protein powder as a meal then i'd suggest going for a slow release, thicker protein such as casein. However keep in mind that protein powder is well, only protein, it is not meant to be used as a meal replacement as it doesn't contain the nutrients that would classify as a meal.
I make a concoction for lunch everyday that is very filling.
35g Whey isolate. I alternate between this and casein.
25g Psyllium husk powder
25g cream. Normal cream, not the half and half coffee creamer stuff.
200ml almond milk
I put all of this in a big soup mug, add boiled kettle water and blend with a hand immersion blender, it ends up a thick pudding consistency that i eat with a spoon.1 -

I sometimes make a smoothie for breakfast, and when I do I often include protein powder, more often than not whey, although sometimes I use a Vega one. It has a lot more than just protein powder, though, as I don't consider just protein a complete meal. I add lots of vegetables, some berries (or other fruit), not a lot of that, and some kind of fat, either homemade nut milk or goat's milk yogurt, most commonly. It has about the same calories as any other breakfast I have (I usually aim for around 350).And did you see any good weight loss results from it?

Protein powder won't lead to any weight loss results. If it helps you achieve a calorie deficit then it can contribute. I like a decent amount of protein at breakfast, so if having a smoothie I add it and think it helps make the smoothie more filling, but really it would probably be fine without it, for me it's more about meeting my nutrition goals. (My smoothies are filling for me, as much as a vegetable omelet which is my other favorite breakfast -- I'm good from around 6 to 2 if necessary, no problem.)
I also ate the same smoothie when maintaining.0 -
Thanks for the tips!! That's really helpful0
