Oh yeah! This program will definately keep you accountable.0

That is one thing love: the accountability. When you see how much you are actually eating verse what you think you are eating in terms of calories, fat, carbs and protein, it is an eye opener. It makes way for big changes in eating and new healthy lifestyle.0

exatly how I ended up losing 36 pounds, getting off the meds for high cholesterol, depression and sleep issues.
I wrote down what I ate for 3 days, then logged it into here. Then I sobbed for an hour:sad:
Today I am thankful to have MFP as a tool, and also for the friends I have made.
Good luck to you. If you log, you will eat better. If you eat better, you will lose weight. Period-no tricks or magic!! :drinker:0 -
Welcome to My Fitness Pal! Until you start logging in each days food intake (high or not) you really don't realize how many calories and sodium you have each day. It also helps to have lots of friends to keep you on track. Could not have done it without my MFP pals.0

it's shocking to find out what we absent mindedly consume :noway: welcome to mfp!0

I totally agree. Where has MFP been all these years that I've been hearing the fitness experts say to just eat 500 less calories per day or just burn 500 calories per day? In my opinion that is a bunch of malarchy. It's not JUST about 500 calories per day. We HAVE to know how many calories that we are taking in first. If I'm eating 4000 calories one day and 2700 calories the next, burning 500 calories per day is not going to have me bikini ready. It's really not going to do a thing for me. To lose weight, we must be on a strict calorie regimen. Of course exercise is a plus, but it only ADDS to the benefit of eating the correct number of calories. All of that 500 calories mess was clear too... Clear as mud!0

Yep, it's like a big ol' wake-up call! Its no wonder America is so obese!! Most of us just didn't realize how bad it was or how bad it is for our bodies, or we just chose to ignore it. We all knew fast food was not healthy nor nutritious but its eye-opening just how many calories are in some of our favorite home-cooked meals we previously thought were fairly decent for us. Trackking calories makes all the difference. Welcome to MFP!!! And Good Luck chasing your goals!0

awsome!!
i logged in my food intake most of the work week and was always under or right at this programs recommended calorie intake.
after yesterday's outing i was more than 4 thousand calories over my reccomended calories!!!!!!!!!!!
no wonder i struggle to loose!!!
i'm washing dishes now. washing the cookie sheet that i cooked a whole pack pf chocolate chip cookies last night! washing the spatula that removed the fresh cookies from the sheet. VERY GUILtY FEELING I HAVE!! BUT AN EDUCATIONAL ONE!!!
LOGGING ALL THIS DOWN MAKES ME WANT TO STOP!!!!!
my wife ate 2 of those cookies and i ate the other 22 while watching tv!!!
i want to loose weight!! i just had a great lesson!!!!
never would have realized the intensity without logging it down and looking at it on the screen!!
