Just venting weight loss

Most times I can ignore comments. But I'm so tired of people saying I'm too thin. I know that I lost more weight over the last 20 months than anticipated, and I am very thin.
But I'm not unhealthy. Just had physical and blood work. All normal. My doctor did say that I need to put on a few pounds for the sake of having some cushion.
I started 16:8 IF 8 weeks ago. The scale hasn't changed other than just my normal weight fluctuations but I do look a little leaner. Never really understood how you can get thinner without the scale moving unless you are recomping. I haven't been recomping but several people have commented that I'm getting thinner.
I'm just a little irritated this morning. Just curious if other people have similar experience always being told they are too thin.

I think people have different ideas of what thin is.
If you know yourself that you are very thin at present then those who are commenting are just showing you they care about you.
Its great all your bloods etc are good but being too thin isn't ideal or healthy either so you maybe need to look at how you are currently eating and increase your calories.
I get told often 'look how small you are' but that's just from people who haven't seen the improved me in ages (been at goal for almost 4 yrs). I know I'm not thin though, I still have my curves which I love so I don't ever expect to hear the word 'thin' mentioned around me
Of course you are irritated, but perhaps see peoples comments as being ones of love and concern.2 -
It's a common thing, and I've found myself thinking it about others even after it happened to me.
This time 2 years ago, I had lost about 28lbs - my wife and her family made comments about me looking gaunt and ill; two months later and another 10lbs down, and I was looking "fit".
Over the last 6 months a guy in the office next door has been dieting; he's lost about 40lbs, and I caught myself thinking "he's looking a bit thin". It started me thinking, and I realised it's just that my mental image of him had not caught up with reality yet - he doesn't look too thin at all, and if I was meeting him for the first time, I would not have thought that.
One thing tho - "I'm not unhealthy. Just had physical and blood work. All normal" - this is exactly what HAES advocates say. Just because your stats are OK now, does mean that your current weight, low or high, is the best for your health. Being too thin is just as unhealthy as being overweight, so try to find your balance and get to a place where you're happy with you, and healthy too.6 -
I hear you. It's incredibly rude when people think they can just criticise or comment on your body like it's something open for public discussion.4

do you mind sharing your stats? if your doctor is suggesting you put on a few pounds that may suggest that those saying things to you about it are on to something?4

Unless they are medically trained professionals, they should leave whether or not the OP is at a healthy weight to the OP and her doctor.2 -

This is an important detail.
OP, are you underweight via your BMI? If so, that might be why people are showing concern.6 -
Everyone will always have an opinion! Thats perfectly fine, all that matters is how you're feeling and truly feeling not just what sounds like the right answer.1

Op could there possibly be caused for concern0

I get told I'm too skinny and to stop losing weight all the time. Thing is, I have not lost weight in months. I've built some muscle, and maybe reduced a little body fat (not much in the winter though), but not lost any weight. As a matter of fact I've gained probably 2-3 lbs. I'm still well in my normal BMI, and feel great. Most of the people that say that to me are overweight though if that tells you anything. They also knew me when I was obese for years, so it's an image they aren't used to.1

Normally, yes, I'd agree with this.
However, if those people are speaking up out of genuine concern - and since her doctor seems to agree with them - I have a hard time considering the comments out of place.3 -
interesting the OP hasn't been back to address any of our questions...0
