Sweet Tooth/Afternoon snacks

Can anyone give me some advice to cure a sweet tooth? I've gotten used to snacking on chocolate in the office during Christmas...also, what do you eat in the afternoon for a snack??? Thanks!!!

My favorite afternoon snack is an apple and a cup of herbal tea.
As for "curing" a sweet tooth, I found it helpful to start being more mindful of my eating. I still eat sweets, but I eat them when I plan them.
When I first started losing weight, I spent most of my first year pre-logging my meals. If it wasn't in my diary, I didn't eat it. If something tempted me, I shoved a piece of sugarless gum in my mouth instead.
That strategy worked to get me used to the idea that I didn't have to eat something just because it was laying around. I plan my treats, pick them up at the store when I want one, and then eat them after dinner.2 -
For the sweet tooth I'd recommend the chocolate tea line from Republic of Tea. The peppermint chocolate, strawberry chocolate, and double dark chocolate are very good. For afternoon snacks, I make my own beef jerky and that's always my go to snack.1

Following cause I need help in this area as well! I still allow myself some chocolate when I want it though. If I try to cut it off completely I will end up caving one day and overeating it. I've been eating more ham roll ups and mozzarella cheese sticks for snacks. Trying to get more protein in with my snacks1

Honestly, I love Quest Bars (and Detour Bars) for curbing a sweet tooth craving. I eat them daily and love the nutrition that they give my body, plus the flavor.2 -
Hot tea is a nice afternoon pick me-up. So many varieties, plus it takes time to drink. If you hate tea, look into one of the "light" hot chocolates....or make your own.

But I do eat chocolate most days.....it's dark chocolate & a planned snack for me.1 -
I like to have a single serving of yogurt when I need something sweet. There are so many flavors you can't get bored.1

Light Swiss Miss hot cocoa is only 25 calories per cup. I mix it 1/2 water and 1/2 almond silk for a creamier taste ( the unsweetened for only 15 calories in 1/2 cup). So for 40 calories total it is pretty tasty and curbs my chocolate fix :-) Or just use all water for 25 calories.2

Quest, kind or Lara bars.
Sometimes I just have the item...but just less of it. For example, yesterday I wanted a brown butter run cookie. Normally, I'd eat a few. But I took one and walked away.1 -
Pineapple dusted in Cocoa powder..I keep some in my freezer or also apples and pbutter are my go to1

I don't snack in the afternoon usually. Nothing wrong with it if you like it, though.
I am mostly answering because you say you got in the habit during Christmas. I get that, but I find habits like that aren't too hard to break -- if I stop eating something sweet in the afternoon for a while I'll lose the habit. If I'm in the habit of eating at certain times (or eating certain foods at certain times), I will expect it and want it, but that doesn't mean I can't stop without it being too terrible.
Again, if you like this new habit, no reason not to keep it, of course. I find it easier not to snack and to eat something sweet (when I do) after dinner or if something really unmissable shows up at my office. ;-)1
