Anyone else have a problem finding shorts that fit right?

Am I the only one who has problems finding shorts? I have tried on probably 40 different kinds in the last 2 months and have found 1 pair that is almost to my liking. The problems I am having are....the butt part is too loose fitting and the waist fits too tight. Plus, most of them are too short since I'm so tall (5'11"). I don't mind a little short but not so short my *kitten* cheeks hang out. Does anyone have this problem? If so, what brand of shorts do you like?

  • wow. yes. but, i'm 5'3. target shorts are either too short or too long. in the past i have had luck with a.n.a shorts at jcpenny. they're still not my favorites.

I have the same issue. The waist usually fits me right, but the butt is always saggy and my thighs are still too "thick" to wear the shorts "squeeze" them when I sit down.

I really don't do shorts....I hate sitting in them. I really like jean skirts...and so does my hubs :)

I'm also tall - 5'10" - but build more rectangular than curvy. I find that the Croft & Barrow bermuda shorts at Kohl's hit me about 3" above my knees with an 8" inseam. They fit me a bit loose in the waist. Not too many remaining in stock this late in the season but on sale. Good luck!!

I have the opposite problem with shorts and jeans...to get them to fit my butt and thighs they are way too big around my waist and I have to cinch them up with a belt. :(

I have the same issue, no butt and all legs. I find most don't fit well and ride up on a regular basis. I usually don't wear shorts for this reason. When I was having my pants hemmed a while back, there was another customer there having her shorts hemmed. Perhaps find a style you like and them have them altered to your fit. May work ..

One of my friends suggested this actually. This may be what I have to do in order to find shorts that will fit that I like. Thanks!

How long do you want? When I was at Kohls the other day they had a "modern fit" which seemed to have extra room in the waist. They also have "walking shorts" which are about 8' inseam. They had bermudas, and "skimmers" too (which were just past my knee and I'm 5'9").

I actually found some good ones at Kohls and The Limited. All I was finding where either hoochie mama shorts or soccer mom bramudas. These hit mid-thing on me.

I wear bermuda shirts for that reason. Regular shorts are way to big in the legs.

I am 5'3" - I fit into a size 4 shorts, but the waist is always too big- wear a belt and they bunch up in the butt, size 2 are too tight on my thighs, I've always had muscular thighs. Shorts with a little spandex are comfy, but stretch out after a couple of hours, I am over 40- shorts are either tool lol short or too long for my liking *sigh*

I'm all butt and thighs, no waist. I FINALLY found some at Target that were their *I think* "2" fit (the '6' fit doesn't look right one me.

But anyway, these have extra room in the thighs, so they work for me. Only complaint is that they ride up.
