Is this a diet sabotager? And if any is allowed which is best?

If it's something that makes you eat (e.g. I tend to want to eat after I drink beer. It's not a scientific thing, just a behavioral trigger), consider limiting it. Obviously, if you have health issues or medication interaction issues or addiction issues, behave accordingly.
Otherwise, just log it.7 -
I make it fit within my calories for the day. Beer has the most calories, hard liquor the fewest. All depends on what you like to drink.4

When I want a glass of wine, I drink a glass of wine. I just log it.6

As one who subscribes to IIFMM, I make it work. I've lost...and gained on alcohol. Just watch your intake.2

I just drink on my cheat day. If you are drinking within your calorie limit on a normal day, it will slow your weight loss. Alchohol is a different macros from Carbs/Fats/Proteins altogether, and while Alcohol is metabolizing you won't metabolize other sugars efficiently.3

I drink several beers every night and have managed to loose over 30 pounds.3

When I was losing weight, I still drank alcohol, but not as much as I was prior...it's a lot of calories and regular drinking required me to limit actual nutrition so I just cut back and kept it mostly to the weekends with maybe a couple glasses of wine mid week.1

I drink alcohol occasionally. As long as it fits in your calorie goal it is fine. Some people have trouble moderating their alcohol use or trouble controlling their eating when they drink. If this is a problem for you you may be better off not drinking alcohol. But in and of itself drinking alcohol is fine. I prefer vodka with club soda and lime or light beer. But whatever works for you and fits your goals is fine.1

Conversely, I don't drink except on special occasions, and am fat, so.. :P0

I did cut back a bit but I also found out I can still drink if I increased my activity. I settled in at 30+ miles a week, hey I love my booze.2

i drink 4-5 days a week and have not had any issues when i was losing weight.i have maintained for 3-4 years now.1

Just remember that alcohol contains 7kcal/g + carbs and whatnot in the drink.1

Just for losing weight sure if you count the calories and stay in a deficit. If your body building it could make it more difficult during a cut when protein isn't being metabolized because the liver is trying to clean up the alcohol in your body0

Also remember that when alcohol is in the body, it CANNOT be stored. So it has to be metabolized. During this time NO OTHER ENERGY SOURCE is being utilized till that happens. So you burn no carbs or fats. That's why it's not a good idea to have alcohol before bed because you will inhibit burning fat when you sleep. And that's when the most fat is burned.

I give up drinking whenever I am losing weight. For me I would just rather "spend" those calories on sweets2

This would be my take. I don't drink anymore, but when I did it almost always meant eating quite a bit.2 -
I've lost plenty of weight when still drinking to excess, it's really all about calories. I've also gained weight when drinking and lost and gained when not drinking.
I don't drink now (related to the "to excess" bit) so have different extra/indulgent/just for fun sources of calories in my diet instead, but if you want to have a moderate amount in your diet you can certainly fit that in while keeping a deficit and meeting nutritional goals.1 -
In a blender:
Fill with ice cubes
Pour 3/4 of the way full with coconut water (about 2/3 to 3/4 of a liter)
Fill the rest of the way with GOOD tequila
Add the juice of one large lime (or better, two or three Key limes!)
Add agave syrup to taste - start with a couple of tablespoons and adjust accordingly, after blended
Blend to the consistency of a Slurpee.
Remove your clothing and drink. Or vice versa.
If you measure and enter ingredients in MFP > Recipes, it should come out around <100 calories per cup (236 ml) serving.

Alcohol is TOTALLY fine, it just has to fit your diet allowance. Your calorie budget is your playground. I just choose wisely, because certain alcohols will play a little nicer than others. For example: if I drink beer, I'll drink light beer in the general range of 100 cal. If it's wine, I'll stay away from red, but instead pick a dry white wine of around 90 cal. And more usually for casual drinking, I'll stick to my favorite - single malt whiskey, which is about 70 cal.0

I continue to drink, I'm a vodka guy, while loosing weight. I continue to loose, but no notice it is slower. I try to make sure if I drink, I have healthy snacks around...like grapes, or else things can get bad real fast

Yes, to alcohol for me. There are plenty of people who regularly drink alcohol and are not overweight. I was one of them, then I wasn't, now I am again. We can eat drink and be merry while still being healthy.1

I've decided to not touch a drop for a whole year. I'm surprised as anyone about this as love a wine!

I LOVE craft beer and I am not leaving it, I do have less, only on some days and watch closely anything else I eat that day. Junk food can go to hell but not my precious craft beer!!!
Certainly not on weekdays cos I read that it slows down fat oxidation, so yeah, tomorrow I'll have few yay!0 -
I never decide not to drink but I am not really a drinker anyway, I can go weeks or even months without a drink without thinking about it, I have been told that you are better drinking something like a Gin and slimline tonic if you drink anything due to calorie content, but I don't like Gin so would have a glass of wine and just count it if I was going to have anything. A bottle of wine is between 500-750 cals depending on its strength as your body processes alcohol as sugar.1

I used to make it fit my macros and calorie budget. But when I completely cut it out, I see more progress during that time. I love wine, but let's be real, I'm not pouring a 4oz glass and having one. It was more like a 8oz glass and I'd have 3.
As someone mentioned above, your body stops processing food, and starts to break down the alcohol.0 -
I try to limit because the alcohol I like is high in calories. So usually maybe twice a month or so, on those days I usually go over with my food log0
