I just bought my very first bottle of BioSil liquid and i was just wondering if anyone here is using it.
It is so hard to get real results on the internet.
I heard it helps with skin, hair, nails and bone/joints.

People share your opinion and your story.
Did it work for you and what kind of results have you noticed so far... if any?

Thanks

    Heh,

I use Biosil capsules, not the liquid. It was funny because I didn't really think they were doing that much, so when I ran out I didn't buy anymore. Within 3-4 days all my nails had cracked and broken off. I went out and bought another bottle! It used to be that my nails wouldn't grow beyond a certain point because of all the cracking and splitting, but now I actually have to trim them because they just don't break like they used to.

Aside from strengthening my nails, I noticed my eyelashes had a burst of growth (I didn't even realize they were stumpy).

I used silica gel for 6 months. I don't know if it works or was just coincidence. I have heard mixed reviews on it. I started using it because I was experiencing hair loss, for a month, in large clumps. This was during something extremely stressful that I was going through (which triggered my PTSD). I went to my doctor, had a check up, a full run of tests, and saw a specialist as applicable. The result was that I am in perfect health, and there was no medical reason for the hair loss. It was because of stress and I had other symptoms that the doctor identified and pointed out were also a result of stress. I was not anemic, but I chose under doctor supervision to increase my iron to a high level (just to make sure I had a good reserve of iron). I also started taking a multivitamin. And I started biotin and silica, both of which may have been unnecessary, but I didn't care. Anyhow, the hair loss stopped, I have a huge amount of hair regrowth and regained thickness. My nails are very strong. My skin is great (usually is anyway). I also noticed a decrease in knee pain. Any of this could have been from other reasons.

Only take silica for 3 to 6 months. If you build up too much, it could potentially cause permanent kidney damage.

I also reduced and managed my stress better and took very good care of myself, my health and my hair. I also stopped using henna/indigo dye. The hair loss began after using indigo in my hair, so there is a chance that triggered it as well, but only if the indigo was contaminated with something.

If you have hair loss, always check with your doctor for potential causes.

My main reason for trying BioSil is that i really wish to slow down aging process. I am 30 and would like to keep my apperance as young as possible for as long as possible. On top of that, my nails are soft and have ridges in them.
I have heard of Biotin but after further research people were saying how BioSil was better than Biotin and thats why i got it.
Supposebly helps stimulate your own body to produce collagen which should help the look of your skin, nails, hair, and bones.

    I have never used Biosil...BUT

I use to have thinning hair that has always been baby fine....when I turned 35 I started perming it, just to make it look like I had hair!....18 months ago a friend bought me Wen hair from QVC for Christmas 2011....and healthy hair, skin, and nails by Andrew Lessman....here is the link for the ingredients label in it:

    http://www.procapslabs.com/Products/details.aspx?Healthy+Hair,+Skin+&+Nails%u2122

my hair is thicker than it has ever been, and I now wear a pony tail!!! first time since grade school! I will be 51 on June 28th...Oh where Oh where was this stuff all my life!..

Although I do think it is the combination of the vitamins and biotin in the Andrew Lessman product, combined with the non-stripping ingredients in the WEN.....that is responsible...I don't know which is doing the most work:)

I would not take it for that reason alone. That would be a waste of money and possibly cause kidney damage because it's not supposed to be a long term supplement. I think it is unnecessary for most people. I only took Silica gel (not biosil) for six months because I had a reason and I wanted to leave no stone unturned (I was ok with taking it, even if it was not effective, because it was temporary).

If you are having trouble with your nails, eat nutritiously. The ridges are caused by dry skin around the cuticles. There is nothing you can take internally that will get rid of that. You can put cuticle oil on your fingers, so the softness and reduced dryness will allow for the nails to grow more smoothly. Everyone gets some ridging as they get older.

Eat well, exercise, reduce stress, take care of yourself. Those are the ways to maintain youthfulness. But, no one can completely stop the aging process. I'm 35 and the other day I was carded because the cashier thought I was 18. Youthfulness is important to me too.
  • hi natasa26ca
i know this is an old thread but it is the reason that i just signed up and joined with the goal of losing 20 pounds, but more importantly to get with an established exercise routine and stick with it for more than the typical two weeks.
i've always kept up with nutrition and my health, ever since the mid 70s decade when "health foods" first made a leap into
the collective unconscious in the US and spread throughout the world.
i've know about antioxidant foods and the particular most important vitamin supplements to take if you are concerned that even when you DO eat right, there is still a good chance that you may need to take a bit more of several key vitamins and minerals.
as for my experience with Biosil or generically what would be called orthosilicic acid. the silica in the Biosil or Jarrow OSA is formulated to bypass the digestive system intact so that it can be absorbed to benefit the collagen making process (skin, bones,
nails, hair). i have been using it rather faithfully since the early 90s decade. this was the very first health food compound that i
could say without a doubt gave me back strong nails, bones, vibrant flexible skin, thick hair, albeit graying more each day - and as a bonus it also is beneficial for the cardiovascular system's artery and vein network. i have virtually no placque build up whatsoever (i do have a slight downside risk due to acquiring hypertension aka high blood pressure since i was 40 years old.
on more than a couple occasions in passing i have asked other people (some who know me and some who don't) to try to guess my age and i don't think i have ever had anyone say the actual number or more years (perish the thought). more often i hear ten to fifteen years less than my current 58 years. the cost of $30 at my local health food store for a small bottle lasting over two months is a sure fire way to add a multi level player in the war against aging and free radical damage due to oxidation and premature cell death possibly related to environmental toxins and chemical pesticides we all are bombarded with either in the air or in our fine tasting but odorless and invisible to the naked eye. i can't speak for anyone else, but i am certain that i wasn't getting the proper amount of silica that my body required to keep it's storehouse of collagen filled to capacity and supplying a form of an important raw material that is in a formula that reaps results due to better absorbtion & bioavailability. you will see a substantial change with just seven drops added to your morning juice serving each day for one month. you will be glad you heard it right here from little ole 58 year old (no way!) ME
  • I used Biosil for 3 months and my results were amazing. My hair and nails were stronger and thicker. My eyelashes grew and my skin looked amazing! The downsides.....hair growth happened everywhere (legs, eyebrows, facial), and I gained 13 pounds in 3 months. My eating and exercise habits had not changed, so I attribute the gain to the Biosil. So, I had to make a tough decision. Be a chunky hairy person, or a slimmer balding one. I stopped the Biosil about 2 weeks ago and I've noticed my hair/nails/skin have reverted to their previous state. As for the weight...well that's not budging yet....of course! Good luck in whatever you choose :)

Registered to post to this question "does Bio-silver work?" It most definitely does! Am 61, doctor wanted me to start bone meds. All side effects were worse than current body. Read that Bio-sil would help with fibroblasts, (bone builders) and Dermoblasts, (skin builders). Started taking oct. 11, 2016. Hurt to stand/sit/stand, having incontinence problems.
Now no pain, as can move freely. Instead of rushing to bathroom every 2 hours (and oftener).
Less rush to toilet, no more waking up in wet bed.
As started taking for bone and joint pain, consider skin, hair, nails to be good side effects.
Hope this helps answer questions "does bio-silver work?"

    It's nonsense.

All these types of products are BS.

If you didn't open the bottle maybe you can return it.

No science, just anecdotal experiences by users.

I find them the most helpful. If something is a waste and its BS your beter off without (like this aparently) nothing wrong with bluntly saying so. We live in such a sensitive world

Where’s his evidence, though? And I mistrust blanket statements like “all these types of vitamins.”

Look up the ingredients of biosil and then find something reputable that links them to the results biosil claims. If that can’t be done, you’ll have your answer

Try examine.com I've gotten lots of good info there. I've never taken biotin, though there sure are loads of "beauty" supplements out there right now containing it.
