Menopause and weight gain

Hi,
I'm 37 and went into early menopause about 2years ago due to severe endometriosis. Since then I seem to have piled on the pounds. I am now trying to shed those pounds, but find losing weight extremely hard despite putting huge effort into it.
Just wondering if there are any menopausal ladies on here who are/have experienced the same.

In a similar position. 36 yo and have been in early menopause for 5 years. The weight has started to creep up along with high blood pressure. Hoping to get it under control with MFP and working out but it certainly feels more difficult with menopause. Feel free to add me.1

I have tried over the last two years to lose the weight but just seemed to gain. I was in a viscous cycle for a while with the endometriosis, I would exercise to lose the weight but then be out of action for 2-4 days after in agonising pain, so it just got to the point where exercise seriously was not worth the pain. I would lose days with my kids as I was in so much pain and spaced out on my meds, trying to get the pain under control0

I have an auto immune disease that put me in to menopause several years ago & I'm only 38. I am so miserable at my size. I have severe joint pain because of the auto immune disease so I was pretty sedentary for about 4 years. If I had motivation...I'm so depressed and food is my comfort which is horrible. I am now in remission of my auto immune disease but I'm now the biggest I've ever been. People make fun and take pictures of me from behind which only makes it worse because all my weight goes mostly to my rear. I am going to pray hard for pain relief and motivation!!!0

Have you had your thyroid tested? Thyroid problems are more common once you reach menopause and unexplained weight changes are one of the most common signs of thyroid disorders. If you haven't already, I'd suggest giving your doctor a call.1

It is hard, my hubby is in the armed forces and I find when we go to the balls, I'm one of the bigger ladies there, the other are 12-14 biggest.....I'm an 18-20. One of my main motivations is HRT doesn't agree with me and osteoporosis runs on the maternal side of the family, so need to do something to try and make my joints and the muscles/ligaments that support them stronger.
LiveLoveLife try and ignore the haters, they are not worth your energy, focus on the things that you consider beautiful, your eyes, hair etc and your personality, think that for every pound you loose your eyes will be even more beautiful, never, never be ashamed of being you! And those who make you feel ashamed are the real idiots and a waste of space x

I began running a couple of years after menopause (age 54). It definitely helps keep the weight off. I lost the weight before I started running though. I had been walking and hiking a lot which also worked as long as I was doing enough of it.2
