Are there any other haters out there?

I know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day but honestly, I do not like most breakfast food. Plus, it takes to much time to make. I don't like cereal, milk (not even soy), eggs, pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, toast, bagels, or french toast. I do like bacon.and taters..but, let's face it that is the reason I am here, way too many fatty foods. I have been forcing myself to eat oatmeal and bagels but I don't think I can do it another day. If this change is going to work for real this time I can't be forced to eat gross foods (I know there are breakfast lovers out there. I have nothing against you. Breakfast is my only enemy). So, to make a long post short, does anyone want to share their recipe with me. Are there any other breakfast haters out there?

eat lunch/dinner foods for breakfast!! who says you have to eat eggs, cereal etc.
Nothing wrong with leftover stirfry for breakfast or even steak and whatever......it's all about keeping calories in check and portion control.
I do eat breakfast everyday but sometimes it's nothing more than a yogurt and coffee or a banana and cup of tea.
I think eating anything in the morning just to get the body going for the day is good.0 -
To me, breakfast is a total waste of time. However, I know it is the most important meal of the day. I am trying to do better myself, so I encourage you to hang on in there.0

Not me, I love breakfast! But I wanted to say that just because its breakfast time doesn't mean you have to eat breakfast food. Have something you like and just get your metabolism going.0

What do you eat the rest of the day? Have dinner leftovers at breakfast time. You don't HAVE to eat 'breakfast foods'.
Plus, nothing wrong with bacon and taters. Just don't eat a bunch of them all at once!0 -
Sorry I can't help you...but I support you in your breakfast-hating. I force myself to eat one cooked egg white....0
-
Eat something non-traditional! I love eggs & eat them any meal. Since you don't like b'fast food, eat your protein in some chicken or tuna. Nothing says we gotta eat certain things at certain times of the day!0

I like things like cereal and eggs but not at breakfast time ( like cereal before bed actually lol) so what I do is eat a sandwich or something "lunch-y" at breakfast time instead. Fruit smoothies are great in the morning too. And go ahead and have the occasional bacon and taters so long as you watch what you eat at other meals and don't make it an everyday thing.0

i love breakfast. but i don't like eating it in the morning lol. anytime i eat breakfast foods it tends to be for dinner. i just can't really eat in the morning. i have to be up and moving around for a couple of hours before i get hungry. if you aren't hungry in the morning, don't force yourself to eat. "eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full" is a great rule to follow. and if you ARE hungry in the morning, who says you have to eat breakfast food? like i said before, i eat my breakfast for dinner lol. there is nothing wrong with eating a sandwich for breakfast instead of pancakes. =]0

I'm not a breakfast person at all. I can't handle eating for about 5 hours after I've woken up. I do however, have Up n Go for breakfast which is a shake that has energy, fibre, calcium, protein all in one little squeeze pack. Maybe you should try a shake of some sort?0

I agree. Eat something u enjoy....leftovers are good.0

Definitely eat something, even if its not traditional breakfast foods. I found when I didn't eat breakfast, I was more sluggish thru the day than when I do.0

You don't have to eat "breakfast food" for breakfast. Just make sure you eat something for breakfast.0

Eat whatever you like - eggs and waffles and oatmeal might be regular US breakfast food but that's not necessarily what the rest of the world eats first thing in the morning. Soup, stirfried veggies, noodles, cold meat and salad, a sandwich or wrap, last night's leftovers.... The list of possibilities is only limited by the foods you like!
One of my favourite breakfasts, that I've only had when travelling in Asia is congee - rice porridge/soup that you add bits and prices to - spring onions, shredded chicken, fried shallots, hard boiled egg, chili sauce, boiled peanuts -YUM.0 -
Oatmeal with fruit is my favorite go to. The instant with the fruit in it already has too much salt for my tastes, but I use instant oatmeal and put my own fruit in. My favorite: sliced apple with cinnamon, nutmeg, granulated brown sugar, milk and raisins. Tastes just like you're eating apple pie! Look up all of the nutritious things oatmeal can do for you, most importantly lowering cholesterol which can lead to heart disease & high blood pressure. Heal thy self!
Other go to breakfasts: Corn Flakes with sliced banana (potassium), fruit & cottage cheese (protein!), fruit & plain or vanilla yogurt (big fan of peaches or fresh strawberries/blueberries).
Hope this helps. As my friend Michael says: Doctors are not nutritionists and don't really go over such thing with you. If they did, we all might be a little less heavy. Good luck and keep up the good work!0 -
Mmmmm... did someone say bacon and taters0

As others said, who says you have to only eat "breakfast food" at breakfast? Are you afraid that the breakfast police are going to show up and cart you off to food jail? You can try PB&J or fruit salad. My wife & I do beans for breakfast every day (we're vegetarians and use them for protein). We honeymooned in Hawaii (where there are a lot of Japanese tourists) and our first hotel had plenty of Japanese foods on the breakfast buffet; we spend 4 days eating rice bowls with dried fruit, miso soup, and marinated seaweed salad, and it was fantastic.0

Silly question, but how about fruit?0

I love the idea of eating dinner or lunch food for breakfast. I just looked at breakfast as my healthiest meal with the least amount of calories. I guess long as I watch my calorie intake I should be fine. Thanks!0

That sounds really good!0

Silly question, but how about fruit?
I never feel satisfied with just fruit so I usually eat it with a meal just to get the nutrition I need.0 -
I hate breakfast as much as you do but I found a solution! (at least for me) get the Great Value mixed berry thingy in the freezer section at walmart. It's got like 4 types of berries in it. Throw that in the blender with a little bit of water and some Crystal Light Fiber powder packet (or any type, really) and blend it! You can also add two tbsp of flax seed, doesn't change the taste at all imho, and that'll add some more protein to it. The nutritional facts for it (really filling) are under SquishyJenn's Flaxseed Smoothie in the food diary thing. I'm pretty sure I made it public.0

i love EVERY MEAL! I dont skip meals! PERIOD! Obviously thats why i need to lose 20 pounds!0

I don't care for breakfast food MAYBE once in a great while but I make a smoothie every morning and put just about anything and everything in it, all different kinds of fruit, yogurt, always raw spinach leaves (the taste is hidden in the fruit), ice and a tiny bit of water or juice!! It's not considered sitting down eating a breakfast but your getting all your food intake for it in a drink!!! Just a idea for you!!! Good Luck!0

I personally don't care to eat when I first roll out of bed however, with the goal of changing bad habits and learning to live a healthier lifestyle I pack my breakfast daily. For about the first month I had to force myself to eat by 10am every morning. It used to be that if I ate early in the morning I would be hungry again an hour later so I associated eating breakfast with over eating. Now that it is a part of my regular routine most days, it's just one of my three meals. My internal clock got used to it.
If you really don't like breakfast foods then don't eat the typical breakfast food. Eat crackers and cheese or something. The goal is to jump start your metabolism after sleeping all night. Try to keep it simple for now...drink a class of juice. Try a Fiber One product - the brownie's are awsome -- what rule says you can't eat a brownie for breakfast? The Fiber One brownie's are better for you than a pop tart!0 -
If you want to eat traditional breakfast like foods for breakfast, you can try and modify some breakfast ideas you do like. Ever try turkey bacon? Some brands can be pretty good and better for you than regular bacon, good chopped up and mixed with peppers, tomato and light cheese (ie laughing cow) in a wrap. Or saute some chopped up veggies, throw in some protein like a slice of deli turkey, good omelet filling, but instead of egg, use a tortilla and make a quesadilla.
A fruity salad is good too, regular salad base (ie lettuce, spinach) filled with strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and blackberries, some almonds and your choice of main protein (ie grilled chicken or turkey bacon) with a tbsp of dressing (Italian is good!) Muffins are good too, if you can find a good recipe with decent stats. (I'm not much of a baker, so I don't have a recipe to share.)
Stuff like that can give you the mentality of eating "breakfast food" without hating your life doing it. And as everyone else said, anything goes! They say breakfast should be your biggest meal (easier said than done) so lunch or even supper foods should be fair game, though I myself like lighter things in the morning.0 -
Although I love breakfast foods, the time to prepare is often an issue for me. I have discovered a couple of good alternatives - 1) Fiber One bars - only 140 calories, and tons of fiber - which is good for you and fills you up. There are several good flavors - my favorite is oats and chocolate - feels like I'm getting a naughty snack! Also, Aldi (if you have that chain) has a Fit and Active Meal Replacement bar that is 180 cals - and has lots of protein. Also very tasty - comes in chocolate peanut butter or double chocolate. Also feels naughty but isn't! Aldi's version of Fiber One bars are also excellent and much cheaper than the name brand. Depending on what I've had the day before, sometimes the fiber bar holds me better till lunch time, sometimes it's the protein one. However, it's a quick, tasty way to get the body started for the day - and a good alternative to regular breakfast food!0

Kippers and fried eggs (and a dollop of salsa) get my day off to a great start for 280 calories. Two fried eggs, two strips of bacon and 2 tablespoons of salsa is only 220 calories. Sometimes I'll eat a couple of chicken franks and an apple or orange. There's lots of great stuff to choose from so lay down your sword and make your peace with breakfast... ;o)0

I really don't care for waffles or pancakes, and if I ever eat them it's always without syrup and people think I'm crazy. Just not my cup of tea. I like eggs a lot, though, I could eat eggs for every meal0
