Getting back on track after the Holidays?

I told myself I wasn't going to lose myself over the holidays, but I had a 2 week house selling/moving thing, and like 3 Thanksgivings to attend and 3 Christmas's and overall I gained 14 pounds. Which isn't that bad in my opinion for a span of 3 months. I'm just having trouble jumping back on. I wasn't exercising during that time because of all the craziness and when I finally had a chance to exercise, I didn't feel like it at all. I totally slacked.

I'm on day 3 of staying in my calorie range and I am starting exercising again tomorrow. This just sucks. Because I was losing 1-2 pounds a week, that set me back 7 to 14 weeks.

Anyone else dealing with this?

Gained 4lbs over the holidays. Not too bad, but enough to bother me. Jumped back into proper dieting and drinking water and the weight basically fell off. Hopefully it won't set you back as much as you think.

I started a really silly system to make myself accountable. I bought pretty neon Sharpies, and if I log everything I eat and meet my goals, I get to put a nice pretty blue check mark on the kitchen calendar. If I don't, it's a hot pink X. So far, January is all blue check marks.

I stayed the same over the holidays, but I had fallen into some lax habits for months before that and I really want to tighten things up and hit the home stretch here and just hit goal.

A lot of the weight you gained was water weight, which will shred of you as soon as you use your glycogen stores. You might think that this holiday was a setback, but think of it rather as a investment. Because your body got chance to get your hormones to balanced levels. So now you will be able to continue your journey so much longer, treat it like ,,tires change'' in Formula 1. Yes, it takes time and slows you a bit, but you assure they won't break on track. Just come back to what worked for you and you'll be amazed how fast the first pounds will vanish. You'll be back on track in no time so don't worry and continue the hard work. I hope that you had fantastic Christmas, so you could think of them as family time, rather than feel guilty about them.
