WRKING OUT WITH BABY

Hello mom of 3! My youngest is 6months old. Ive read alot about working out with baby. New to MFP and VERY out of shape. Just did 30 squats while holding my 15lb son....WWOOWWWW!!! Would like to know if theres other moms who workout with baby as well??

Strap on a baby carrier and go for a nice long walk? I'm not a parent but I know that for me, carrying a 15 lb load would turn a leisurely walk into quite the workout.2

You can certainly be active with kids, for sure. I would say that really effective workouts would necessitate not having the kids with you. I always get up early and hit a hard workout before anyone else is awake, so I have a set time to focus and really push hard. I think you'll get better progress doing that. You don't have to get up super early, if you can find some time elsewhere in the day you can set aside for "you time".1

This might sound silly but I had about a year break from gym when she was 1-2 but stayed in ok shape from just carrying her around when we went out or to the zoo park etc never took the push chair she would toddle then I carry her and repeat like some sort of interval training0

I was doing great with back-to-school walking to & from school twice a day with my two little ones in the stroller--tried to do it at a good clip when I was on my own--threw in a few extra blocks here and there when I wasn't being rained on or didn't have somewhere to be that morning. Otherwise walking with babe in a carrier is my preferred work-out. I try to always bring it when I go grocery shopping--baby's happier in the carrier and I get more of a burn doing the things I have to do anyway to keep the family fed. Feel free to add me. I'm currently doing a Jillian Michaels challenge for January--some days I make it through, and on others babe's laying on the floor crying at me when I'm trying to get my planks in. My "little" guy is seven months and 23 pounds.1
