I am a busy, semi-active 41 y/o that has gained 25 lbs in the last year. Many of my good habits went bye bye when I met my current boyfriend who loves to eat out all the time, eat junk food, get dessert etc... I have fallen into his habits by default. Problem is...he doesn't gain weight from it?! Go figure....
We are actually going to start this journey together but I'll need support not to back slide. I am really hoping that by keeping track of my food and exercise daily will help me meet my goal.
I'm enjoying reading everyone's posts and exploring the site.

Welcome! I understand what you are saying since I have been in similar circumstances. My wife suffered from a bad back injury about 4 years ago. For 3 years she was unable to do some of the most common routines. With her inability to do things I let myself go as well. I have gained weight and I have set a goal of losing 50 to 60 pounds in the next 7 months.

I just came across this site and am excited to finally have something that tracks my calorie intake and outtake.

What kind of exercising are you doing?

Hi! I usually get on the elliptical for at least 30 minutes or 3 miles, then the treadmill for 15 minutes or 1 mile. I joined a gym and they have spinning classes. I'll start taking those this week. I've done those in the past and they are tough but a great workout. Not sure I can keep up right now but I'll try. I can't say I enjoy exercising at all with the exception of riding my bike. I'm going to buy a bike rack for my car tomorrow so I can get out on some trails again. The exercise isn't going to be the toughest thing for me, it's the not eating all the junk food. I crave carbs!
