Okay so I have just started to take the gym seriously. I've been going for 40-60 mins every other day, but this week I've done 50 mins each time, really working up a sweat but I have gone 5x in a row. my body is knackered physically, I want a day off but I feel guilty? Anyone suggest anything please?? X

have you thought about following a beginners program like starting strength?

Rest days are important. You should have AT LEAST one a week. I usually work out 4 days a week at the gym.0

Dont feel guilty at all, listen to your body. I am the first person that will tell you that for the most part I do NOT believe in overtraining. I know many will disagree with me hence why I said "for the most part". It sounds to me like your body needs a day or 2 to recover. 5 days in a row for 50 min really isnt that much and maybe when your body is better adapted to that you will be able to do it no problem. I would never suggest 5 days in a row.
Make sure you are drinking enough water, most people do not. Eat enough to support your workouts, stretch often and listen to your body.0 -
I suffer quite bad anxiety which is probably where the guilt comes in but I just wondered if anyone else feels it! I know it's not a lot, but for me it is. I leave dripping in sweat and feeling like I have accomplished something. I only have a part time job and mostly by myself all day, so it's more mentally important for me to feel like I have achieved something each day, than physically. Just trying to get into my head it's okay to rest lol! Thanks for all the replies x
