Need Energy

Is there anything that won't give me jitters that I can take that will give me that extra boost of energy to go work out? I work 12 hours a day and drive 45 minutes to and from work. I have zero energy but I really want to start working out. I need to lost weight!!! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! ❤

I do it by managing my food so I eat something light but filling an hour or so before. Couple pieces toast with PB2 and jam today.0

It might be a good idea to start smaller with brisk walks. They can not only help you wind down from work and the commute, but will, if you walk at a good brisk pace, help get you more fit and increase energy. Whether that increase is from the fitness aspect of walking or the relaxation aspect, I know even as someone who works out regularly, I find walks can be invigorating.
Also, make sure you are getting enough calories. I don't know what you do for 12 hours of work, but unless you are sitting all that time, you probably burn more calories than the average 8 hour job.1 -
I eat sour patch kids if I'm not going to take a pre-workout.4

Food like a banana or steel cut oats. A tablespoon of peanut butter. These work for me.3

I actually do sit for 12 hours a day. I am a dispatcher and to be honest sitting makes me more tired than when I did physical work. I just need motivation. I asked my husband to go with me but his response was he is not a gym person and doesn't really want to go.

As it was said, walking is a very good --if not the best-- way to start working out. Start with a 40 minutes walk alternating moderate and fast walking pace. Maybe you feel that it will not work, but starting slow and increasing activity level slowly is the only way you can maintain this over time. Be patience, but also be constant and you will see good results. After 3 or 4 weeks of doing this you can increase intensity.
Maybe your husband don't like exercising and you don't like that, but in my opinion, it is better to go out alone. You don't depend on anyone else and that is very important. Find the best time for you, and go out without thinking too much. You can listen to music, podcasts or whatever you like. Or maybe you can only think. It will be your time and for sure you will enjoy it.
You can also use some app for tracking your activity (nike+ running, garmin, runkeeper, etc.) Visualizing your progress maybe can help you. At least it helped me so much and I recommend it to you.
If you don't like walking or running you must find one activity you really like. This is also very important.

A caffeine pill can be a good preworkout....Maybe start with half if you aren't already a big caffeine consumer. They're also super cheap compared to preworkout.1

water helps so much. i get narcolepsy near the end of my workday if i neglect the water. honestly didn't connect it with dehydration until i tried to donate blood at a mobile clinic one day.
i knew i hadn't gotten around to the water-drinking that day, but i had no idea it affects your circulation that much. i'm used to doing my donation in 20 minutes or so, but that day they threw me out after 40 minutes beause the bag was still only half full.2 -

Can you stand at your desk? I encourage our dispatchers to pace around a bit during the day and we put theirs PCs up on a stand if they want to do it all the time. And on break, take walks and/or do some quick body weight exercises, if there's room.2

Generally I'd suggest starting with making sure you're getting enough food, water and sleep. Most pre-workouts are heavy on the caffeine and sugars.
If your calorie deficit is too deep then that'll cause a significant lack of energy.
As suggested upthread, just start with something gentle like walking to get in the habit of doing an activity2 -

Try the "10 minute" test. It's a good test to see whether you really need extra energy, or you're having a mental hurdle.
It's as simple as this: JUST START EXERCISING FOR 10 MINUTES. Check in with yourself. Are you feeling good for more, or are you really dragging?
If you are dragging, you may need to reconsider the workout. Maybe you need to eat something. Maybe you're coming down sick. Maybe you need a more gentle workout like yoga. Maybe you really need a nap more than a workout.
BUT, more often than not, once a body's in motion, it stays in motion. The workout itself will energize you. You will see that and view it as invigorating rather than something to psyche yourself up for. And in time you're body will anticipate workouts just as it anticipates dinner.
