Only just started but a bit confused

I have only been on my diet for two weeks.
During the first week things went very well and I lost 2 kg. I know weight loss is faster at the start but I thought this would probably slow down to the recommended 1/2 - 1 kg a week.
This second week I have not felt as hungry. I have been doing exactly the same as in the first week but have lost no weight at all. It feels like my metabolism has shifted down a gear to compensate for the lack of food, which is super annoying. Has this happened to anyone else?
I am hypothyroid but take medication so am not sure if this makes any difference.
ETA: For example, this morning I have had 1 cup of coffee and 1 rooiboos tea (both with a small amount of soya milk, no sugar). I have been for a 15 minute walk /jog (training myself to run for longer). I am not hungry at all and it's almost 10:30! I was going to have my usual breakfast of an apple and 12 almonds but am putting it off until I actually want something to eat.

With your medical condition I really don't know how that would impact - but generally your initial loss is likely a lot of water and glycogen, but one or two weeks doesn't really 'count' in diet world, it is a long journey and your body will take time to change overall but hour by hour you could find you weigh different amounts because it is not linear, it's about creating a good pattern. Congratulations on losing 2kg! What a great start, keep going and if after a month you have still not lost anything consider reducing your calories by 50-100 calories a day further. Make sure you are logging EVERYTHING you eat and are measuring instead of guessing portions (including ingredients in cooking)1

Good advice.
Well done for starting & loosing 2kg so far.
I would just add that it's important to eat your daily calorie needs. Your body will not release body fat if it believes that you are not going to sustain it by nourishing it. Also your body will hold onto water if you don't drink enough to keep it hydrated. I have found that when my water intake is correct (3litres per day) my body fat % is decreased, and the hydration reading is increased.
Take increasing your appetite & water intake bit by bit, don't try and force yourself to eat a lot or drink a lot at one time, this will make you not feel good & will negatively impact how you continue on with your weight loss efforts. Increase your appetite by adding a small meal (200), add an extra cup of water each day and go from there.
Also do not DRINK your calories, by this I mean fruit juices, soda, milk shakes. Smoothies are ok in moderation, but I would count them as a meal rather than a drink.
Good things to drink as well as plain water are: herbal teas, fruit teas, infused fruit waters.
Some alternative beverage sweeteners are: stevia, algarve syrup, honey
I hope I have offered some help

Firstly, well done on the great loss!!
Secondly, you've kind of answered your own question; you've only been at this for 2 weeks. If you give it 6 weeks, and still see a downward trend in weight, then thumbs up. If not then you need to re-assess your calories intake.
And definitely only eat when you're hungry! Some days I cannot stop munching, and others I just don't fancy anything beyond three meals - it'll even out as long as you're tracking and still within a weekly cal deficit.

Well done on 2kg
Now:
2 weeks is nothing. You will sometimes go for several weeks without a shift, then have a big loss, then perhaps a few weeks of slower or normal loss. It isn't linear and don't panic.
Your metabolism HAS NOT shifted. It really won't. Your body won't "hold onto fat", nor will it enter the mythical "starvation mode". You need to eat enough to get your necessary nutrition, and to feel sufficiently energised, but don't worry about eating for the sake of it.
You do need to keep hydrated and log your calories properly. You can eat them or drink them, they all count the same, and as long as it satiates you then all is good as long as you maintain a calorific deficit.
Hang in there. This is a long haul and the best thing I have ever heard on these forums is "the time will pass anyway and you can be losing - or not". That reminds me to stick at it and it works with 327 logging streak so far and nearly 6 stone lost.2 -
Thanks for the reassuring replies!
I do worry about my metabolism but will stick with it as this calorie counting thing seem to work for people when they are accurate and persistent.0
