So for just the second time (since I got out of the army) I went shirtless at the water-park this past Saturday. This is significant but I am embarrassed by the scars on my stomach (earned in combat). But this Saturday I took of my shirt, and displayed my scars to the world and did it proudly. Only one person asked about them and that was a little kid. I was very proud of myself. Your support helped me accomplish this my gorgeous loves. Thank you.
Blessings,
Ed

You have done so great to shed the weight - and now to have the confidence to take your shirt off and let people see the man you are!! I am sure your kids are very proud of their brave dad - keep up the good work!!

The scars of battle are the medals without equal. The lessons and stories they tell are worth letting the world know.

There is no shame in service! I salute you!

It sure isn't easy to show those scars but you did it!
I bet by doing so you motivated other people to do the same. It might not be scars from battlefield, it might be scars from being mistreated, from obesity, from an accident, whatever... You being confident enough to go topless might help other people to be more confident too.
You're such a great motivator. Thank you for it! :flowerforyou:

    That's awesome Ed!

I get asked about mine all the time...usually by children. I proudly show off 'my zipper'...I would not be alive today without having undergone open heart surgery as a baby. I was highly embarassed by it as a child but I have learned to love my scar...and sharing my story with others.

You are such a beautiful soul and so in love with your with you children...I can tell you that most of the people never got around to seeing your scars because they were too impressed with the man standing in front of them (YES YOU). So proud of you for having the courage to do something that made you uncomfortable! You are every woman's dream for a soulmate! Love you! Hugs and smooches!

That's such a great victory. It can be difficult to overcome our fears and let ourselves be vulnerable that way. But now you know you are strong enough to do it. I bet your kids were so happy and proud that you could relax and just have fun with them. And there's still plenty of summer left here in Texas to have more adventures in the water.

You should be proud to show your scars. You got them defending our country.

As the wife of an ex-sailor, the daughter of an ex-sailor, niece of a soldier, grand-daughter of a ex-soldier and a very proud American.... let me say thank you!
  • Your scars are part of who you are and they are what make you what you have become. They are part of you and have a story behinf them. Thanks for your time defending our country and getting your scars so that we can all be safe  You are wonderful.

Those scars tell a story of courage that only those who have fought in the name of freedom can understand. The rest of us only know that we sleep safely at night because of brave men like you who have served our country with honor. Thank you for your service.

I admire you and salute your service. I worked with vets and soldiers for several years at Fort Campbell (I worked for a university as their vet education benefits counselor). I know the sacrifices our men and women in service have given (as well as their families). Thank you for that service.

I am so happy you feel that confidence now, and I can only imagine the positive impact you made on a child's life that day. May you have many more moments such as that and may your confidence grow even grow every day. You deserve the best of life!
