I am beside myself trying to find this video on youtube, have tried every mix of search terms on google to no avail! I actually saw it earlier in a comment on one of the threads but I've lost it again, trying to show it to my sister who insists she can accurately eyeball portions! It's the video where they show how two days worth of food laid out side by side can look similar but in fact have vastly different caloric values due to adding extra oil, nuts, peanut butter and so on here and there. Any help appreciated!

There will always be some error, especially if not using a scale. But really even if a person uses a scale, some error is going to exist regardless. Over time, making adjustments to the error can put things back into check with goals.

I've never owned a food scale but had no problem controlling weight and hitting loss goals by eyeballing. I just used the feedback from my loss vs estimated intake to adjust.

I think some people are pretty good at that Robert, and using feedback to adjust, but my sister is right at the beginning of doing this and it's more a case of 'I've been hitting my daily calorie allowance and I'm not losing weight, what am I doing wrong?' and it's pretty clear that her portion sizes and logging are off so I thought the video would be helpful in nudging her towards investing in a food scale etc.
