Significant physical change?

I joined a 12 week challenge at the gym that's based solely off of progress photos (before and after) and body fat % reduction. My question is...is 12 weeks long enough to really make a significant physical change? I'm increasing my workouts/week from 2 to 5 and I eat around 1400 cals/day. I'm 180 lbs right now.

Yes, it's enough time! I'm on week two and have lost nearly 20lbs

Yes, you can make a significant physical change in that time. I would not expect to look like your ideal within that time but you can make great strides in 3 months.

Yes. In my first 12 weeks of calorie counting, I dropped from 190 to 170 pounds. That would certainly have shown up in photos. Lighter people will show results with smaller losses, so while they wouldn't be able to drop the pounds as quickly, they'd certainly be able to show progress in terms of clothing size or physical appearance.

^^ 100% agree. You can make vast changes in 12 weeks. Body for Life is my favorite 12 week program, but you can run it as long as you like. I ran it last Feb (results below).

Ok, your week one picture looks exactly like my body right now! Do you recommend this program if my schedule is pretty busy? Do I need lots of equipment? I'm going to look it up right now and maybe do it this February. You inspired me!
