Hello

I am 160 cm " 5.24 " and I currently weigh 50 kg " 110 p " and my jeans size used to be 28 and suddenly it is 30 and 28 does not fit now , my friend told me that I become obsessed about weight but I am not I am gaining and my belly seems to be big in a weird way it looks like it is full of water so I wanna go down to 103 pounds " 47 "

anyway , I started a diet to lose some and it says you have to eat 1500 calories to lose weight and 1940 if you wanna keep yours

It has been 2 days

the first one I ate " 990 calories "
the second one : " 910 calories "

the problem is I love eating but I can not control myself and I do not wanna gain weight and I am really confused so the Question here in general : Am I doing right ? suggestions , observations are welcome

Thanks

If you're supposed to eat 1500 cals to lose weight, why are you only eating 900?

because I thought it might not that accurate and I need to push myself hard so I said I was gonna eat up to 1300 cals but I always ended up below 1000 cals

I told you I am not sure what to do or am I doing it right or just messing around ?

    I used this website https://www.supertracker.usda.gov/bwp/

so I think they are legit and accurate ? maybe

This. You are not going to do yourself any favors by lowering your calories down to an unsustainable level. In the long run, you will only be depriving your body of muscle--which is the "greediest" of fibers and requires the most calories to fuel. The more muscle you have, the more you can eat without gaining.

Second, you say nothing of your macro breakdown. What are you eating in terms of protein/fat/carbs? The general rule is 1g of protein/either ideal body weight or current body weight (there is some debate about this). Figure out your protein needs first, then figure out your fat and carb needs to stay within the 1500 calories.

Third, carbs are like little sponges. The general rule (according to the person who got me into the shape I'm in now) is that for every gram of carb you eat, your body can retain 2g of water. So, if you have a high carb diet, you may be retaining a lot of water. Drink a lot of water. I drink between 100-120 oz per day. Same with salt intake. High sodium foods will cause you to retain a lot of water as well.

If none of these things are helping, start ruling out food reactions. Have you changed your diet dramatically? What new foods have you introduced?

The scale is one important measure of health, but it isn't the only one. The problem with being overly concerned with weight is it ignores body composition. You may achieve the weight you want, but you will likely be exactly the same shape you are now, only at a lower weight. You haven't discussed your exercise routine, but the only way to change your overall shape is weight training.

Know how your body reacts after certain meals. Data is a good thing. For example, yesterday was my "free" meal. I had a glass of wine. Today the scale is up 0.7 lbs. Do I like it? Of course not. Is it really "weight"? No. I weigh every day and know certain things about my body: I'm always up after more carbs, after an intense leg workout, and if I eat later in the evening than usual. Over the next couple of days, my weight will drop back to its usual range. If you have this type of information about yourself, you're less likely to be upset with the fluctuations that naturally occur for you.

Sorry, this got really long. I don't post often, but when I do.... it's usually too much!

The minimum calories for a guy per day is 1500. If you try to get by on an intake that is lower than that, you are much more likely to fail as it is far too restrictive. You will probably end up seesawing with binge eating after every failure. You should try to correct your eating disorder and get your food intake to something like 375 calories for each of 3 meals and one snack each day.

    Don't do the famine-gluttony-famine road....

Train yourself to only eat the correct portion size. Only eat the serving on the plate, and never go for seconds. Remove all of the rubbish snack foods from being in easy reach, and if you feel hungry. have a glass of water instead!

Stick with the 1.500 for a week or two and see if you start losing don't go under 1500 if you do stick with it. The problem with going too low at the beginning is that you may go into a state starvation and stall altogether. And being so low doesn't leave you any room for dropping your calories as you are already so low. Remember this is not a race slow and steady is the way to get what you want.

You should consult a doctor concerning your calorie intake. Mine says it is not healthy to eat fewer than 1000 calories a day. Also, I know what you mean about starting to eat unhealthy and not being able to stop. That shows that we are not eating because we are hungry but because of some other reason (stress, depression, boredom, for example). What helps me is to drink more water and to keep my trigger foods -- the ones that encourage me to cheat -- out of the house. Then I will go for carrot sticks instead of potato chips or candy bars. It's worth the struggle to be healthy.

And get a food scale. You may be eating more than you think. Learn to weigh food before preparing it. Also be sure to log snacks, nibbles etc.

Don't try to lose too much too quickly. That's a recipe for failure. Patience is important and being sure you are getting enough food and a good macro split will give you a better chance to keep it off. Remember you probably need to relearn eating habits that you will keep once the weight is off, or it will just come back with a vengeance.

The scale measures fluctuations in body weight for you just the same as for everyone else. If you can use Happy Scale or Libra to display a rolling average of your weight and let you ignore the daily fluctuations it might help you not stress about those fluctuations.

I'm not short and I'm not slim, but I'm also not certain that a short man such as OP need consume all 1500 calories that an average man should to meet minimum nutrition needs.
