I have tried it and I am going to get off of it probably this week. During Phase 1 you drop a lot of pounds or I did, but I have a lot to lose. The problem I have with the diet is I am not getting enough calories and my body is going into starvation mode. I am always full and have to force myself to eat. I cheated bad on the weekends and it would totally mess everything up. I mostly ate boiled chicken, scrambled or boiled eggs, tuna, canned chicken, canned tuna, boiled shrimp and just season them to what ever I prefered that day. I also eat a lot of beef jerky, usually has some carbs from the stuff they season with but not to much.

I have never done it and wouldnt do it! In phase 1 you dont consume carbs and pack on the protein! This is fine short term, but what happens when you start eating carbs again......you gain it all back on!!

I'm using it as a guideline for my own diet plan, and have had great success. The book is only like 20 dollars and has a lot of recipes in it, and describes a lot lot lot of important information... (Phases 3 and 4 are the most important, you'll really need to read up on it) so I highly recommend you pick it up.

Not if what you've lost is fat and you follow his re-feeding schedule properly. That is very true in the short term, but as long as you actually do it right, ketogenic diets work very well...
