sodium intake over 1,000

My daily calorie intake is 1,970. Right now my calorie count for today has 1,000 left but my sodium count is already -1,000 too much. If I'm drinking a lot of water, which I think I drink too much does that out way the sodium count? Suggestions, ideas appreciated

No, drinking a lot of water does not out weigh your sodium count. Ideally you should be drinking about 8 glasses of 8 oz of water a day.

I guess a b etter question would be will it get flushed out due to the amount of water I intake. Which I my water intake it approximately 64-100 oz a day.

It's hard to say. Weight naturally fluctuates, so even if you do flush the sodium out of your system you could still be up on the scale due to other factors.

Unless you have medically verified high or low blood pressure, I don't think sodium is anything to really worry about. Some days I'm a couple thousand over on sodium. It all works out.

So long as your water intake is up -- I drink a gallon a day -- sodium shouldn't be too much of a concern to you (so long as you don't have special medical needs!). Sometimes I have days where my sodium is very high. But as long as it isn't every single day going massively over your cap you're probably A-Okay. I have never noticed any major discrepancies in my weight due to sodium.

Lower insulin, from a lower carbs and moderate protein, is more likely to lower your electrolytes, which I wouldn't do unless for some sort of medical reason.

Many of us who do low carb high fat diets supplement with 3000-5000 mg of sodium per day. That's 1-2 teaspoons of salt. Low salt can be just as much of a problem as high salt.

I swapped out my tracking of sodium for fibre. So I don't see it on the main screen anymore (web site, not phone).

As to the water, drink enough that you don't pee bright yellow and not so much that you feel bloated. I'm still debating not tracking my intake.

you could try avoiding high sodium foods, they are mostly the pre prepared ones, often they can be high in non essential sugar too. Salt, like water is something it is possible to have too much of, especially if one has water elimination issues with the kidneys.

I tend to stay right around the daily recommended amount, but part of the nature of reducing calories seems to be higher sodium some days. I have a few that I go over and I don't sweat it.

However, if I have Chipotle for lunch and stir fry for dinner I do hold water for a few days and the scale will jump up, but it always comes down and then some due to calorie watching.

I've been on the Easy Mac diet for 14 days now. With other foods consumed i'm easily over 2500mg a day....don't feel any worse for it.
