    Not vegan. Haha, though... to be fair, I'm sure I ate more than you did.

    I hit about 2000 calories today.

    Quality over quantity. There's no competition. You can't compete with nature.

    Lately ... higher than usual because I've been a bit under the weather.
    Normally ... relatively low. I have to watch my Vit C intake ... can't go too crazy with it.

    Vitamin C is water soluble. It's safe to eat a lot of. (Unless you just go absolutely insane and down a bottle of vitamin C tablets.)

    Fat solubles are the tricky ones.

    fun fact: vitamin c doesnt actually have anything to do with catching colds or flus its very difficult to become low enough in it to get sick from it which would be if you got scurvy lol

    Vitamin C increases the absorption of iron.

    I have naturally high iron levels.

    If I take Vit C regularly, and especially if I'm taking quite a bit of it, I start noticing increased fatigue, dizziness, joint pain and generally feeling unwell. The same thing happens if I eat a lot of red meat. It's not severe, it's just uncomfortable. And when I stop taking Vit C (or ease back on eating red meat), I feel better.

    That said, I do eat fruit every day, so I am getting Vit C that way. :)

    I get more than enough Vitamin C without trying, don't get sick, and am omnivorous.

    Vitamin C does not "prevent" colds in anybody.

    It can somewhat *reduce the risk* of colds for marathon runners and extreme exercisers, but is useless to the rest of us.

    According to the bottle of Vit C I've got, Vit C may shorten or reduce the severity of colds, but no, it won't prevent them ... and it's only "may" not "will".

    I do take some if I feel a cold coming on, gambling on the "may", but usually only for about a week.
