What could I add to a salad to keep it low carlorie? My plan is to have a lean cuisine with s side salad for lunch (I need something quick hence the frozen meal), but do not want to waste a ton of calories on a side salad

I have become a huge fan of baby spinach. Adding a protein will help too, like crab meat, grilled chicken, or tuna. If you can do it without dressing, and maybe just add flavor by adding fruit or veggies that is the way to go.0

I usually do spinach, 2% cheese, tomatoes. I like Zesty Fat Free Italian dressing. Or Light Ranch.0

I like to eat a salad with some carrots...I add a few strawberries, light honey dijon, and sometimes chicken.0 -
I'll sometimes add cooked shrimp for an added protein boost.0

If it's the salad dressing you're concerned about, consider making your own! I've found a lot of low-calorie recipes on all.recipes.com. You can also trip, cherry or grape tomatoes (they're a bit sweeter than the regular tomatoes).0

As long as you skip dressing, bacon bits, and croutons, salad has almost an insignificant number of calories.
Lettuce, carrots, celery, bell pepper, radish, onion, cucumber, etc. are all very low calorie contributors.0 -
My favorite salad is the following:
Kale
Spinach
Red Onion
Sprouts
Garlic
Lemon juice
Salt
Pepper
(Oil optional)
You could make the salad a meal and add tofu or tuna.0 -
I usually do baby spinach alone but occasionally I'll add grilled chicken & cherry tomatos. I also use Maple Grove Raspberry Vinegarette which is only like 30 cals for 2 tbls. Strawberries in this salad are good as well.0

i love salad with the teeny tiniest bit of feta and slivered almonds - and I use the spray dressings sometimes to help keep the calories low (or just use 1/2 or 1 tablespoon of a lower cal ranch since that's what I like best)
Or I load up my salad greens with cucumber, carrots, and a little bit of cheddar cheese. yum!0 -
My favorite go-to salad is romaine lettuce (lots, a head of romaine is only like 35 calories), 1oz of goat cheese (70cals), cucumbers and/or onions and/or cherry tomatoes (under 50 cals) topped with grilled chicken or fish (4oz = 120 cals) and 2 tablespoons of Bolthouse Farms raspberry salad dressing (30 calories). Delicious, low calorie, and low fat. Not to mention VERY filling!0

I usually have cucumber & tomato with light caesar dressing and a little feta cheese. Cucumbers are VERY low in calories.0
