Shocked into action

A bit of background- i've never really had much trouble keeping control of my weight. I've often gone up and down within the healthy range without paying much attention to it, life circumstances causing the fluctuation but never tipping me into the overweight category. I recently had a baby and as usual for me, the baby weight fell off within two weeks. Well that was october, and since then i've been on maternity leave and realised that they way i've always controlled my weight was with an active job. I was always suspicious of people who said their weight crept up without them even noticing, i assumed they were in denial about it, but i understand now. I weighed myself this morning and I am the highest weight I've ever been, I'm literally on the last pound before 'overweight'. The reason for this is that I literally sit on my *kitten* all day, eat snacks and takeaways and do nothing else at all. Thank god I've caught it before it got any more extreme, but I'm not happy with how my body is now, and I know this isn't a healthy lifestyle for me to be leading.
So yes, I'm here and I have 20lbs (eeeek) to lose to be at my ideal weight. I've never had that much to lose before and It's kind of overwhelming. I've read through the forums thoroughly, and I think I'm clear on the usual advice- log calories accurately, use food scales, be honest with yourself. That's what I plan to do for now and maybe add in exercise and think about macros a little later on. I don't want to overface myself this early on and give up. So hello! Let me know if you're in a similar situation or if you have any extra advice for me.

Thanks guys i forgot- another thing i need to address is my alcohol consumption. when i'm not sitting at home eating takeaways (and often drinking a bottle of wine) i'm out eating out at restaurants and drinking far too much. i just didn't think about how many calories there are in wine and cocktails0

Count calories and start looking for a good jogging stroller for spring fitness. You will be fine.0

Forgive me for intruding, but as you are presumably still grieving you shouldn't worry too much about getting back to your pre-preg weight at this stage - you need to look after yourself.1

Don't worry, I need lots of things to focus on. Emotionally I look after myself well, and I have a lot of support. Thank you though0
