Back at it again

Hi - I am back at this again. I am hoping this time it sticks and I am successful. Any tips on keeping motivated and on track?

I kind of found my plan by accident the other day while wishing I could get my paycheck right away after a particularly rough day. To calm myself down a bit I found the logic- well sure it would be great to have the fruit of my labor right then, but I have a pay schedule that my employer uses and it's just not gonna happen. It sort of clicked that I don't get to have my weight loss results immediately after doing the work out (or immediately after choosing fruit over a brownie for example).
So I designed a simple plan: I have two week chunks as my only focus. It's not about sticking to the plan for forever, it's about understanding that work done today doesn't pay off for two weeks. I wrote my pay period schedule in my calendar and am also using it as my weight loss plan. I set two week goals, one chunk at a time. I have a reasonable calorie goal and know how to eat properly and now I only have to focus on doing it for this two week period, and I'm 100% certain that I will see a result at the end just like I'm 100% certain I will get my paycheck: I did the work!
I decided to go this route in the middle of a pay period and am calling this week practice, getting back to logging consistently and paying attention to the balance of my nutrition and keeping it simple. All the same foods just less of them.
I wanted to add that the idea with this concept is that if I don't work, I don't get paid and also that i have a crazy high work ethic. I wouldn't slack at work and I won't slack at my weight loss either (cause I want that paycheck, in fact I need it in many ways making it essential huh?)6 -
brb_2013 that is a fabulous idea. I think that may be why so many of us get so lost in this process - we're trying so hard to "lose 80 pounds" or whatever, that you lose track of getting through each day, each meal, each temptation.1

Love your concept that makes so much sense. Feel free to add me.0

Well, I started to respond to this and it disappeared......you have a great point with how to look at immediate results vs. working in two week chunks....so hard but yet so right. This is the first time I have consistently recorded my food and started with simple exercising....18 days straight.....please feel free to add me. I have 40 pounds to lose. Thanks0

Great idea. I like the 2 weeks a t at a time. I always find myself worrying about the future. I have been trying to stay focused in other areas of my life too. Love the two weeks!

I like the idea I read on here last week of not focusing on the scale, but on measurements or how clothes fit or whatever. I'm back at it again and hate to be starting over and am so eager to be back in maintenance. But the scale moves so slowly. But, my clothes fit better than they did two weeks ago so even tho I weigh daily, if I don't see movement I can see that I have a little more room along my bra line or waist.1
