Scales lie! There are a lot of reasons the reading is higher. My first thought is to check your batteries. Otherwise, check your diary for things like higher sodium, etc. And, is it TOM?

It's ok, if you didn't eat 500 over maintenance every day, it's not a gain.

Is your board on carpet too? That also plays a part in an inacurrate reading.

If you have been sticking to your calories, then I'd say that it's likely to be water weight.

    ^This.

OP- Make sure that your intake isn't over what your maintenance is..calorie wise. Most likely the Wii fit is wrong.

Is the Wii Fit sitting on carpet? If it is, make sure the extra feet are on it... I didn't have the feet on mine one day and almost freaked out at what it said.
  • My Wii is crazy and weighs me all over the place so I don't listen to it...My favorite was gaining 10lbs in a day and then losing 15 the next...its not an accurate reading whatsoever. I only go by my morning weigh in on a regular ol' scale on a flat hard surface before I've eaten or had anything to drink, and wearing my birthday suit so I'm not weighing my clothes.

I had my board on the carpet, then I checked my weight on the bathroom scale (minutes later) and it was 2 pounds lighter than what the Wii said.
  • Thanks my Wii is on a carpet and I have the feet on them I have splurdged out these past few days as not felt very well. xx

I don't think that's possible, the scale is either wrong or on a unlevel setting
Check the scale's calibration with something that is sold pre-weighed...like a 5 pound bag of sugar or flour
Put it on your scale and calibrate to 5 lbs
Then you step on the scale get your weight
Then step on the scale with the 5 lb bag of flour, if your exactly 5 lbs more...then your scale is correctly calibrated

I never get the same weight twice on my Wii. It has never even been close to my true weight, it is anywhere from 16 to 40 pounds off every day....sometimes 2-3 times a day! Even 5 minutes apart there is a huge difference. I use it in the same spot on hard wood floors every time. I use the bathroom scale for accurate weigh in.

Thanks, I think I may need to invest in some bathroom scales. xx
  • Are you doing the Simple Test? The clothes setting can mess it up. The simple test uses whatever you had it set at last.
  • My weight is pretty accurate on my Wii. I weigh myself first thing in the morning on Sundays...but I weigh myself about 3 times. There is usually a lb. difference in between all 3 times..but I always choose which one I lost less on...to be on the safe side. They say it depends what your wii is on (carpet, hardwood floor, etc) is on..and if it has those grey wheels it came it makes a difference. My bedroom has a carpet..and I also have a huge rug..so when I weigh myself I take the wheels off and its placed on my carpet without the rug.
  • Ni I am doing the clothes changing and stuff on the WII myself if that makes sense. xx
  • Thanks for the tips about placing it on rug etc.. xx
