Need ideas after injuries

So, I broke both my elbows in November. As you can imagine, people who cook for me bring me comfort food, and I've had enough self-pity to think I deserve it. But... I am packing on the pounds! I know I need to start eating way way better, but I am afraid to even walk outside; I fell on my back porch. What can I do to start getting healthy?

PS: it doesn't exactly help that my longtime boyfriend just left me. I need to get past the negatives and get into living.

    After breaking my leg and 3 parts of my ankle a couple of years ago, I was and still am nervous about walking outdoors and especially on grass. My husband bought me an Xbox with Kinect and I have exercise and dance games that I do. I also have a Fitbit and just doing those games gets me a lot of steps at my own pace.
