I have a completely random question (sorry if this is the wrong board to ask this on).

I have a very very old bathtub (the kind where the drain control/stopper is outside the bathtub. However, it's not working properly and the bath slowly drains which is irritating. Trying to take a epsom salt baths and constantly have to refill the tub. Anyone have annsiggestions on how to block the drain to prevent this? I know they sell drain blockers but it's a bit too late to go out and get one. Any ideas on a common household item that might work?

I tried a towel but it seemed to actually drain faster or float away from the drain

Okay well that didn't work lol. Tape can right off once water hit it.

It's okay. It was worth a shot.
    Duct tape.

Not sure we have any. Will look though.

A towel won't work by itself. The water will just drain through it.

Your only bet is to go get a rubber stopper when you can.

You can take foil, then wrap the foil ball in plastic wrap and shove it in there, not sure if it works for tubs, but it works for sink drains
