I've been reading about CLA lately & how it effects fat loss. Anyone have experiences using it?

If you want fat loss, just use hard work and discipline.

I'm already doing that. I was asking about a supplement though.

I've read a bit about it, but never took any suppliments for it. I probably get enough with the foods that I eat as it is found mainly in dairy and meat

Ok, in other words then - supplements have no effect on fat loss.

Awesome next time just say that

Hi Jax I take it along with a whole host of supplements. In my opinion supplements do and can aid with fat loss I have also had success with chromium picolinate I tend to loose more when I take all of my supplements. And I take a lot of vitamins! Only way for u to see is try for itself as u know all of our bodies are different. I have heard a lot of success stories about cla especially with men. Sounds as though u r doing the right things otherwise it can't hurt to give it a try for a month and see if it makes a diff for u

I saw a decrease in my body fat using it with proper diet and exercise. The 1st time I used it with Fastin (diet pill) and no exercise I lost 30lb. I had got pregnant and continued use with both supplements and my physique was better because I used the supplement with proper exercise. You can increase your doseage if needed.

I have tried it, along with hard work and keeping an eye on my food, so I can't tell you if it's good on it's own or it's good in combination with those 2 things or if it doesn't do anything at all.
I was doing crossfit at the time I tried, I was so lean!! :P best of luck

I've been taking it for only 2 weeks now. I put it in my protein shake. Hope to see results. Working out hard as well though.

I've used CLA, and other supplements. Sometimes you hear of a supplement on the www, or tv, or fitness mag. And I am quite suspicious because you just don't know if it's someone making money in the health wellness industry. Research from reputable sites is my best recommendation . I didn't notice any effect from CLA. But there is promising data out there that's supports the product. Also be sure to buy supplements from reputable sources so you are nore assured of the quality.

I used it a few years back and it had no effect at all on weight loss.

    Alan Aragon's take.....

The research isn't exactly a slam dunk in favor of CLA. some studies say yes, some say no, it's far from a sweep. But as with all things, if you put some blind faith in CLA, it will work via the placebo effect, regardless. I wouldn't personally spend a dime on it. Also, if you're a lactating mom, it can reduce the fat in your breastmilk, & compromise infant growth. CLA has also been seen to impair endothelial function. This means that indiscriminate CLA supping can potentially harm the vascular system. Booo.. \

    And a different take

Another problem with the pill is the side effects that concentrated CLA can have for some people, who can experience breakouts, headaches, and nausea. They might also have a negative effect on cholesterol levels, according to the National Institutes of Health, but study results on this point have also been inconsistent. CLA can also cause blood pressure to drop too much if you're taking a medication for blood pressure levels.

Conjugated linoleic acid Promotes apoptosis in adipose tissue Several clinical trials

Research findings: Minimal effect on body weight and body fat Few safety concerns reported

Reported adverse effects: Abdominal discomfort and pain, constipation, diarrhea, loose stools, dyspepsia, and (possibly) adverse effects on blood lipid profiles

    Hi Jax
I have tried Natures Bounty CLA and to this day the bottle sits idol in the cupboard. After trying it for sometime for me anyway there was no noticeable fat loss or reduction in weight. I ended up with headaches, bloating and constipation. Of course to each there own I just thought I'd touch base with you and share my experience.
Your welcome to add me if you wish perhaps we could share new strategies:)

Thank you! It's nice to see people who are open minded & try things. I rarely post on the boards because of all the know it alls who think that their way is the only way. People just assume you are trying to take the easy way out because you ask about things that might help us along. When really they have no idea how much time & dedication we give.

I'm so sorry, but it is not nice to call them "know it alls" and put them down like that. The reason why most say supplements don't work for weight loss is due to science and scientific studies... they're just trying to save your money. :/

Well if someone comes to me with experiences & research I am totally open to that. But I see too often people asking legitimate questions & everyone just goes "Just work out & eat right" or whatever. Assuming that people don't already know this. That's what annoys me. Actually respond to the question asked & explain the reasons for it.
