I am having jaw surgery soon and won't be able to chew for 6 weeks or exercise really. I'm sticking to rest day macros . 150 carb,175 protein, 72fat. Any recipe ideas etc to make this bearable?! Thanks I'm trying to preserve as much muscle mass as possible but not add fat.

I'm following since my husband is about to go through the the same.
Also - Walmart makes this amazing bone broth (chicken or beef). Sam's Choice. 30-35 calories per cup and 7g of protein! Believe it or not, I can drink the chicken one like hot tea. It is so good and satisfying!! So, that might be something you will want to add to your diet.
Other than that, lots of smoothies with protein powder, green veggies, and fruit. Maybe even some ice cream for milk shakes.1 -
That's a lot of protein. Any reason for such a high goal?0

Is there a reason for so much protein? You're going to have to hit the shakes hard to make that up without any meat0

I'm 5'11 and 195 lbs. I lift 5 days a week...cardio.
I may bump it down to 140-160 and up my carbs just a little. The only thing that changes on rest days is I decrease carbs by 25 %.1 -

Yeah I agree. It will be a challenge. I may tweak it some when I get to the surgery point. It's not hard to hit for me at the moment ...but I can obviously eat anything.0 -
I wish you the best! I couldn't imagine having to go through that!1

Thanks:)0 -
I had surgery in October and struggled to eat. My weight plummeted. Not down to the fact that I couldn't think what to drink, it was more zero appetite. I felt sick just trying to eat.
If I had my time over again I would have weight gained before the Op. You might want to consider doing that.0 -

Oh my gosh. Sorry it was so bad. I'm pretty hardy at the moment so gaining weight isn't really something I'm considering. But thank you for the input. I hope I can stomach food a little easier .0
