So I recently went through a bit of a health issue with my noggin. After a ton of tests and meds, it's been determined by my Dr. that I need to lose at least another 20lbs by next February. That's supposed to help relieve a lot of pressure that's been built up in my brain, or something.

I started with MFP at 211 pounds. I am currently at 199.5. My original goal was 190, and to see how I felt when I got in that range. My Dr. wants me to get to 180. Man, I don't know. The time frame certainly isn't a problem, I'm just not sure I can get that far. I suppose it's a good thing that I started this journey before the head issues came up, so that will make it a little easier I guess.

10 pounds is nothing. You're going to make it just fine, and you're going to feel amazing when you've surpassed your goal!

You can do this! You've gotten this far, right. I'm sure you have the motivation and the willpower to do succeed. Especially since it's a health related thing.

It's a bit spooky to read your post and then see an add on the side about the brain...weird how they know what we are talking about!

Hang in there and be gentle with yourself!

You are a third of the way to the Doctors 180, you got this!

Keep your calories consistant, if you are above 1500, work on lowering them when you feel you can. Drink your water, 64 oz a day. Increase your exercise when as often as you can. Eat lots of protein and fiber and limit the fat, simple carbs and sodium as much as possible.

Staying away from Fast/Processed foods will help alot today as done eating your veggies.

Best of Luck, you will feel so much better!

Thanks everyone. The 10 additional lbs. from my original goal kind of worry me, but I guess we'll find out. I do ok with water I think. Sugar is killing me though . I can't eat anything for breakfast without that category filling up.

You have got this covered no problems! Just relax - you already know what to do. One day at a time and it'll be done before you know it.

Not meaning to bump an old thread, but I needed a place to type.

The worst case scenario at this point with my head issues is blindness. Last week I had my second appointment for testing with an ophthalmologist. I thought that would be it and it would just be meds and weight loss to take care of it all. Those tests did not go well.

The field of vision test was worse than before and my eye didn't focus like it was supposed to. Some other goofy test thing showed a blurry spot in my eye. I won't pretend to know what any of that means, I just know that it was worst than one month ago, which is not good.

I have to go back next week to either prove the previous test as a fluke, or as the real deal and to figure out WTF to do. I guess on the plus side, my left eye is fine so it's only my right eye that is under the gun, so to speak. I don't even really know why I'm posting, just other than I hope it helps to vent a little, and to admit that I'm a little scared. I'm kind of a tough guy by nature and don't really like people to know when I'm hurting, etc... So this was hard, hopefully it will be a bit therapeutic, and hopefully next Tuesday isn't as bad as I fear.

That is really scary. :( I'm sorry you're dealing with this - have no idea what help to offer other than an ear. Hopefully it was a fluke! Please keep updating us.

Whatever it is, at least the docs are keeping watch over the situation and you have this under control as best as you can. Please try to hang in there. :flowerforyou:

    Thanks.

I just realized I started this exactly one month ago. I am down 6 pounds since then.

6 lbs in one months is terrific! I know it's very difficult to lose weight under stress too, so that is very encouraging, I'm sure.

Thanks again. :) It's been tough at times, no doubt. There were monster cookies in the office today. I managed to make it without eating any though. haha I just need to make it through next Tuesday though.....
