Vibram FiveFingers, any good?

I've been really considering buying myself a pair of vibram fivefingers shoes. I love walking barefoot, dont care for shoes w/ lots of arch support, and I hear they help with good posture. Anyone own a pair? What do you think and where do you wear them?

I love mine -- but they aren't that great in Zumba as they stick to the floor!
I have pretty flat feet so I don't like shoes with a big arch either --- my converse are my most comfy shoes
I am doing the Susan G Komen 3-Day for the cure this year wearing my Vibrams (60 mile walk) on Day 1 and Day 3. They look weird and they take some getting used to but I find them extremely comfy and they make you work different muscles.
PS I think they would be perfect for yoga/pilates... I dont like being barefoot in those gym rooms Depends on which type you get, some would be suitable for running. The Mary Janes are pretty thin on the bottom but good for running around and they are all great conversation starters -- people really find them weird and have no problem asking you what the hell you're wearing.0 -
I have three pairs and love them to death, take some getting used to if you're running in them. I live in them during the summer.0

Absolutely love them! I do everything in them and am getting ready to get another pair.0

I have a pair and found that my baby toe didn't like being spaced out. Maybe it's just the shape of my foot/toes, but they are okay for a while, but get more uncomfortable if I wear 'em longer. Across the top of my foot, it hurts if I wear 'em longer. Perhaps I need to just break 'em in? Or is it my weird feet? Anyone else have probs? Other than that - I do like they flatness and the look of 'em. I call 'em my monkey feet!0

Have you had any problems with them smelling funky after a while? and has anyone washed them and did they come out okay?0

I love mine. I used to have awful shin/ankle/knee pain during my walks and now I feel fine. I haven't started running in them yet because everyone on rei.com said to wear them for about a month to get your feet used to them. I've done a lot of walking on paved trails and have taken them out on a few hikes. The biggest thing is to let your feet get used to them slowly. If you try to wear them too much in the beginning you'll get blisters.
I haven't noticed mine smelling at all. I've had them almost a month and I've been walking at least 5 times a week in Georgia heat. My brother-in-law washed his and they fit better afterwards. I keep mine at work during the week and I was thinking about bringing a couple dryer sheets to stuff in them to make sure they don't get ripe. You can get socks if you want. I tried socks but I have super short toes and the leftover room in the socks gets stuck so I can't get my toes into the holes. I'm going to try sock surgery to see if I can get them to fit a little better.
There are different types depending on what you want to do in them. Mine are sort of a mutli-purpose. There's a bit more tread so I have more grip when I'm hiking and running. I'll be getting the plain black yoga style ones next to wear as regular shoes. I don't care if I get funny looks. It's worth it just to not be in pain anymore.0 -
I have 2 pairs and love them. I mostly run in mine, sometimes I'll just wear them walking around.
I have not had any issues with smell. One pair I always wear socks with, the other is about 50/50 socks.0 -
I love my Vibrams! I have the Bikilas. My feet are gradually getting used to them still, I only wear them on my shorter runs or I'll get blisters. I want to get a casual pair next time so I can just slip them on and go out for walks. And like a pp stated, I had issues with my ankles and knees when I would run and now I don't even need my knee straps when I run. HTH!0
