So I was doing great with the 30DS! I made it to day 11! Than then an old injury (that happen 6yrs ago) caught up with me. I was limping for 3 days straight. I saw my dr today, and he was very concerned. Tomorrow I have to see a specialist.
I lost 6lbs and 2inches in my waist by doing 11 days of the 30DS. I was doing great! And sooooooo looking forward to my 30DS results.
*sigh* Now what?
I really just want to cry, as pathetic as that sounds. I was really proud of myself... now I have nothing to be proud of. Now I'm just this chubby girl who sits on the couch & eats. I'm doing good with eating, but still. Whatever..
Sorry to vent

continue without using the injured area? if it is a foot injury, sit down and mimic the movements with your upper body the best you can. it is only a third as difficult, and won't yield the exact results, but it will help0

I tried to do 30DS, but my knee problems were back in full force after about 5 minutes. It is beyond frustrating when you see everyone else getting results. Have you considered doing some exercises in the pool? sticking to the elliptical or the stationary bike? If you really have to stay off your feet, you could do some strength training exercises from your couch.
Regardless, you can do this! Best of luck!0 -

what she said.... do what you can. dont let the injury get the better of your mind. You can do this... and you can succeed.0 -

It's my knee too. I can hardly walk. =/0 -
Don't give up! There are lots of lower impact exercises to do that will still help you. Depending on the injury, I agree, work around it. Tons of upper body workouts available to keep your metabolism stabilized.
Don't be hard on yourself. It didn't take 11 days to get where you are, it won't take 11 days to get where you want to be. The main thing is to stay healthy while doing it. Focus on good food choices and a different routine. How about Pilates?0 -
Sarah what a good idea. From time to time, I'm plagued with foot injuries, but I've never thought to do that. Thanks.0

You work through it and heal, and try again.0

I had to stop the 30DS due to shin splints, so I know how you feel. I couldn't do any of the cardio sections because they all involved pressure on my shins. But just use this time to work on other areas of your body. The 30DS isn't the only thing out there that works. All exercise helps. :flowerforyou:0

Is it a leg injury or ankle injury? Can you still walk outside..won't be as fast as results with 30 shred..but still doing something! And you can use weights while walking to still tone your arms:)
Keep up doing something!!Even if its just boxing while sitting or zumbing with your upper body You can still do this0 -

Don't worry about venting, and you are doing good! Don't think that you have nothing to be proud of. You said you lost 6lbs and 2 inches in 11 days, that's great!!!!!! Don't be so down, you have to take care of your body. Good luck!0 -
NO QUITTING!!!!!!! There are so many other options out there for you!! You could do things as you sit in a chair, should you have to stay off your knee. Add weights to any upper body exercises you do to burn more cals. Pilates are awesome as someone mentioned. 30 DS definitely takes a toll on your joints. I've been fortunate that I haven't had any old injury pop up. I have an elliptical that is so easy on the joints. I can only do running on that as I have arthritis in my hips. Awesome workout!! Don't give up on yourself and the leaner healthier you! SHe is still achievable!
I hope all is well with your knee! Keep us posted!0 -
30 day shred has a lot of jumping.. maybe try jillian's trouble zone video. Its mostly weights.. so you may gain muscle weight. The hardest part for you may be the lunges but you can substitute with other moves. Its one of my fave videos.0

It's okay girl, just let it heal and maybe the specialist can figure out what's wrong tomorrow. Everything happens for a reason. Keep up the good job eating and ull still lose weight0

There are lots of things you can still do with your upper boddy. Even if you don't have hand weight you can use cans. Wait till you get to the specialist. They are usually fast. I tore my meniscus on both sides. Even with surgery the bounce back is fast. If the injury is not that bad you can wear a T brace. And even if you do nothing at all...follow the program and you will still loose weight with the calorie deficit. Remember this is all about a lifestyle change. OK sooo you are having some of those old thoughts coming back. This is the best place to vent because we understand. I know your sad, upset maybe even feeling defeted BUT you are not! Soooo I will be the one to say drop that phone right now! Do NOT call Pizza Hut! Get something hard to bite and chew on. and then a small amount of comfort found. and feel the love and caring we all have for you : )0

I had almost the same problem with 30 Day Shred...My knee was hurting about 8 days in...thought I could push through it but it just ended up hurting more. I took a couple days off until I thought my knee was feeling better but as soon as I started back with all the lunging my knee started hurting almost just as bad. It is very aggravating since I felt so good about myself for sticking with something. Not sure what I'm going to do now or how to modify the exercises for the knee problems I do wish you luck though & don't let it get you too down. We just have to figure out what works for our bodies0

Went to a specialist for my knee today.... I need physical therapy. Great, huh? =/
I asked out still working out, she said I can if I want, but to stop when it starts to bother me... And to take ibprophen 3 at a time, 3 times a day... that's 9! Ughs. wow!0 -
JM also has yoga. My daughter is doing it....she says it's no jumping, just positions and stretching type moves. or you can do the shred without the jumping. I had to modify it a bit because of my shins and knees too...I followed the beginner girl. don't overdo it trying to follow the expert. it took me 57 days to do the 30 repeats. but you can do it too...just modify what you can't do. don't give up. that amount of weight and inches in 11 days is impressive.0
