New to this! Looking to lose 30-40 lbs with diet and mild exercise (to begin with). Would love a buddy with great recipe/eating tips and to share our successes with!

    30 lbs in 3 months is too aggressive for most people. you didnt gain it in 3 months you should not try to lose it faster as you will lose a lot of muscle mass with it,especially if you are not obese or have little weight to lose. if you need to lose 75lbs or more set your MFP to lose 2lb/week, 50 or less 1-1.5 lb/week and anything less than 25lb should be set to around 1/2lb/week. eat the calories mfp gives you and eat back 50-75% of exercise calories back because your deficit is built in without exercise.anything more than 2lbs a week is not healthy in the long term,unless you are under a doctors supervision and have been instructed to lose fast(like life or death if you dont lose it quickly)
