Don't Give Up

I thought I'd share something that I realized yesterday. - I have lost 24 lbs in under 90 days. It was difficult at the beginning, making changes and not eating what everyone else did, but it didn't kill me. My best motors that, eventually the weight loss will lead to hip replacement and then I won't be in constant pain. But, more importantly, I now know that I can do this. Seeing the scale go lower and lower is a great motivator. I also don't beat myself up if I slip up. I really think the "trick" is being honest about what you eat and to log all of what you eat, good or "bad". Trust yourself to do it and you will. Also, these discussions are a great way to feel connected. I know that those who are on these forums are facing the same obstacles that I am and that you understand how hard it is. Thanks for the encouragement and I'm here if anyone needs a pep talk.

Thank you for the motivational words! These help a lot especially when I get down on myself.

I had a really stressful day today. Only had a yogurt for breakfast and was really hungry at lunch. Was with my husband and daughter who had just been diagnosed with bronchitis and was on her way to a therapist. Had to grab lunch. Where - McDonald's. Then I read the menu wrong and ordered an Artisan grilled chicken thinking it was salad - was very surprised to get a sandwich and fries. I got on my MFP app and checked the calories and carbs. I could eat the chicken without the bun and all the fries if I wanted. I enjoyed knowing that but couldn't eat all the fries as I felt like I was letting myself down. It was a new feeling for me that wasn't guilt but more like a part saying don't give in to the temptation. I'm happy to say that not only did I not eat all those fries but I ate dinner and had gelato and still had both calories and carbs leftover. Plus I'm down a total of 28 lbs so I feel pretty confident. I'm glad I can share and hope it helps.
