I am a firm believer of the change of lifestyle and not a diet attitude. My family on the other side, look for some of the quicker fixes. They have seen me struggle and try hard for so long and do not think it works (dont worry they will see in time Im Dedicated). They bought a book called the Dukan Diet. Can someone give me a short explanation? Iv never heard of eat and would like to be prepared for crazy eating in the house lol. Thanks in advance!

I hate to use Daily Mail as an example, but this is for the Dukan Holiday diet. Might be able to give you an idea.

I heard its basically an all protein diet for a few weeks and then they slowly intorduce back carbs. But not much fruit and veggies i think.
My co-worker is on it. He lost almost 30pds in 2 months. But I'll bet he'll gain it back by the end of the year!

Love the quote in your signature. The Dunkan diet is an oat bran based diet plan. It is done on phases and requires an adjustment from normal eating patterns. Here is a link to its website. You decide if its worth the effort.

I'm doing it. It is extreme but it suits me, and for once, something works. High protein, low fat, low carb. So as much lean meat/seafood and 0% dairy as you want, then after a few days of that only, alternate days of that and that + veg. Do that til you get to goal, then reintroduce more carbs.

Not everyone's bag, it IS low carb, but for someone who is usually always hungry and craves carbs, it's perfect for me. Check my diary if you want an idea...

You can also look into Primal/Paleo. I think they might be pretty close. Check out Marksdailyapple.com. He's got a pretty good eating plan (refined and unrefined carbs and grains affect your blood sugar and insulin levels the same way - one just faster than the other).

But of course I say that I'm sure most people won't believe me. But you can read the success stories on Marksdailyapple.com (one of my favorite comments from a user so far is "my son came out of autism 3 weeks into a grain-free diet. Go figure).
