Eat healthier, exercise and just keep at it. Don't give up if you have set backs or anything.

You think it is had after 40, wait until you're 50! If that doesn't motivate you, nothing will. Best thing to do, figure out your TDEE (as best you ca,. Unless you have access to specialized equipment, good guesstimate is what you're going to get) and figure out how much you want to lose each week. So, if you want to lose a pound per week, subtract 500 calories a day from your TDEE. Get in some exercise (I know there are some who will say it isn't required and maybe that's true, but exercise makes it a little easier for me).

And a positive mindset. You will go nowhere if you even half believe that you can't do it.

    Good luck.

40 in two weeks, so nearly qualified! My second is 6 months old tomorrow. Both times I have lost the weight easily with calorie counting. My favourite exercise is putting them in the buggy and going for a long walk; coinciding with nap time. Good luck!

Edited: just to say I didn't try to lose weight with my first till he was a year. Both times 25-30 lbs over my acceptable weight

I'm 44 and had my kids at 38 and 41. Just now getting around to losing weight. Started January 2016 and I've lost 24 pounds so far. I have about 16 pounds left. I'm doing it slowly because I want a lifestyle change so I'm making small adjustments here and there. I do exercise a lot only because I found something that I love and take up to 5 classes a week. I've incorporated more weight training now and my weight loss has picked up a bit. It definitely is harder in my 40s. I remember being able to lose like 5 pounds in a week when I was younger but I probably was doing something extreme to lose it. Good luck!
  • I'm hearing you! I'm 42 and my second child is now 13 months old. I've lost 20lbs since April but have stayed the same since around October. I've started trying again but it's more difficult now than years ago. I want to lose another 20lbs but need to lose 40lbs to be in the normal range I think. I'm setting small goals of 5lbs at a time and hopefully I can reach my goal so I'll have the energy to chase my two girls.
