Hi ..only just started logging food on here. Trying to reduce sugar and carbs in my diet to lose about 10lb-1 stone. I go the gym 2 or 3 days a week, mainly cardio but then reward myself with chocolate! Only about a week in and I'm sick of eating chicken..any quick and easy meal ideas greatly appreciated.. thanks

I love tuna, I mix it up and have it on lettuce. Also chef's salads with lean deli meats and egg whites. I make sweet potato hash and top with a fried egg and some cheese. I eat a lot of stir fries with either pork strips or chicken. I also love pork tenderloin. I use ground turkey or pork to make taco meat and serve over salad. I also use ground meats to bulk up tomato sauces or mix with mushrooms/onions and gravy it up. Love, love the slow cooker....throw in boneless chicken or chops in the morning (with either some water/broth or diet pepsi), come home after work, drain and add whatever sauce I want. The meat is always tender. You could use bone in meats too, I don't because my husband is a baby, lol. It is freezing here, so I am on soups. It is a bit hard to find ones low in sodium. I try to keep the packaged ones to 1 or 2 times a week. I make a 12 bean soup that is really good, that's on my list for this weekend. If chocolate fits into your calorie goal there is nothing wrong with it although it may not help with the sugar...lol1

Thanks so much for your reply..I think the slow cooker is a great idea. (Hidden at the back of the kitchen cupboard at the mo) I really need to be better prepared with my shopping lists..will definitely make stir fry when I'm on an early shift. Most of my shifts Involve a 9pm finish without a break so it's been Tupperware filled with chicken at my desk ..it's starting to become boring..lol.
Cheers for your ideas.0 -
Lettuce wrap tacos with ground turkey, shredded chicken, shredded pork or white fish. Any white fish is healthy (tilapia, cod, halibut) Salmon is always a good one. Hard boiled eggs are great to throw in salads, instead of chicken, also black beans. Pork tenderloin is also great. Egg white scrambles or omelettes with tons of veggies. You can make a lot of stuff ahead and freeze into portions and defrost for dinners or whatever.1
