Come a long way from being 376 lbs. and a size 28 many years ago. Heart attack at the age of twenty-eight . Feel like a prescription place with all the medications for heart, sugar, and so forth.
Lost half a person.... Still weigh at 226 and it is like a yo yo . I have gotten down to 206 and then back up again. Know i need to walk more even though i barely can walk when i get off from work. (Have nerve damage in my feet and legs. I fall into the car and pull myself up the steps when i get home) If, anyone knows of some forms of exercise and walk as i can. Any ideas of what to do to get under the 200 mark. Plz share with me.
Plus, if you need to just talk i am a good listener  )

  • Hi PaticiaR,
You've been through a whole lot in your life, but you've proven how strong you are because you haven't given up! Have you considered doing videos that feature chair exercises? Just start slow. Slow and steady really does win the race ☺. Best wishes to you, and please feel free to add me as a friend. You can do this!
  • Hi Patricia!! You have come a long way! Awesome job, be proud of yourself!
Honestly, I hate to say it... but it's all about calories. You have to keep them low. 1200 to 1600 depending on your height and age... and the weight will melt off!! Use your fitness pal diary. I use a scale for my food and read every label. It's brutal but it works! You can exercise like crazy but if you're still taking in more calories than you're burning it won't work... and you'll continue getting discouraged.
On the exercises front, water aerobics or swimming. Works out every muscle and will not be hard of your knees. As for walking, start slow. Put on your running shoes and walk around your living room while watching tv. Or to the end of the block and back. Every step counts. Aim for 10,000 steps a day. If you only do 1000 one day aim for 2000 a few days later and keep upping that number.

    Good luck Patricia!

Proud of you for what you've overcome and how far you've come! I'm on a 1200 cal/day weight-loss regimen (eating back exercise cals) and eat an almost entirely plant-based diet (except for eggs and feta cheese from time to time). I have heard that this kind of plant-centric diet is ideal for those trying to avoid/heal from cardiovascular disease and other heart problems. My diary is open if you ever want to take a peak and see what kinds of things I eat. Sending you a friend request.
