A rest day doesn't have to be full rest. I use Sundays to go for a long walk or do yoga. It's relaxing and helps keep me active, but it also allows my muscles some recovery from my strength training during the week.
I'm not a professional so I can't say whether it's imperative to take a rest day, I just now it's something that benefits ME in my plan and weekly goals.1 -

Fully agree. I personally have to have my "down" days. I give my musculature enough of a beating working out that I really need the rest/repair time. But even then, I rarely do nothing at all. Sometimes yeah, mostly no though.1 -
Not imperative! Thankfully, but rest days are good. Also if you are eating in a deficit for long long periods of time your body will generally give you subtle and then not so subtle ques to take it easy. You can literally work out every single day if you are eating enough and not going too crazy doing max effort things.
A light workout to get the blood flowing and remind your body it's not sedentary is not a bad thing!1 -
Ye well i only do a 30 min youtube dance workout or 40 mins the most and i eat regulary to0

If you feel fit, well and energised then go for it. Your body will let you know when you need a rest or a change. There's no hard and fast rules about having a certain number of rest days per week, 10 days or month.

I work out every day and enjoy it. I run on my treadmill and once in a while do some circuits or weights but I've got some shoulder pain so am paused on that stuff for now. A 'rest' day might be a slower run or a long walk but unless I've been sick I haven't been a complete potato in months. I aim for an hour of working out most days, but still minimum of 30 minutes of being actually active on a 'rest' day.0

I like to go swimming on my rest day now and I don't record it, I just enjoy it.0

I feel better when I work out regularly. I don't beat myself up on less than par weeks.0
