Oh man/ I did great for 3 weeks, lost 5 lbs. went out with a friend to celebrate her promotion and gained it all back over one bad choice meal

    Good work on losing 5 pounds! It's doubtful you undid all that work in just one meal, likely just some bloat/water retention.

    Thank you! That could be true it was Mexican food and two margaritas . Bad idea ! I am gonna get back on it tomorrow and keep going !

    Unless that was a 17500 calorie meal, you're experiencing the wonders of water weight!

    It doesn't work that way. In order to gain 5 lb from one meal, that meal would have had to put you 17,500 calories over maintenance. As mentioned above, you added water weight and are probably retaining some extra food in your intestines.

    Remember that weight loss is not linear. Water retention can be caused by anything from high sodium intake to TOM, and day to day weight fluctuations are totally normal. Just stay the course and re-evaluate where you are after another 3-4 weeks.

    It's a mental game... you didn't really gain it back it is just water weight/bloating and temporary. Just shake it off and keep doing what you were for 3 weeks, you'll recover!
