running foot pain

When running, especially on the treadmill, the middle of my foot(both feet actually) hurts so bad. It feels like something is stabbing me. If i push through it it stops and I am okay, until the next time I run. Is there any stretch or anything that may help or do I just suffer for those 10-15mins till my foot decides its done revolting?

    I like rolling my feet over a lacrosse ball. However, if I were you I'd investigate why you're having this pain. How are your shoes?

    Is the pain along the bottom or top of your foot? When I began running I had pain along the bottom of my foot and the solution for me was almost too simple. I was tying my shoes to tight which was flattening out my foot...

    I bought my shoes at a running store. They are probably getting old. Not mile wise but old wise. They are about a year old(I think) They still feel pretty comfortable. The foot pain doesn't really show up if I run outside but man its cold so the dreadmill is usually my best option.

    bottom. right in the middle.

    I hear ya...it's cold where I am too and sometimes have to resort to the dreadmill. Anyway, try the lacrosse ball (or baseball/tennis ball) thing. It helps!

    Sounds like plantar fascitis. Stretch well before/after your run. Don't add too much mileage too soon/don't add too much speed too soon. The lacrosse ball works, as does taking a disposable water bottle (with water), freezing it, then using that to roll out your feet. Can be refrozen multiple times.

    Most common is plantar fasciitis or heel bone spur. Both will give you simular symptoms.

    As mentioned lacrosse ball 2-5 times a day.

    Deep tissue massage with cross action included. Lots of stretching. Get fitted for proper shoes for your gate. Correct your form.

    Also KT tape is a savior for the pain, but won't cure but will help coping more than anything. Youtube how to apply.

    I loosened my laces. A lot. No pain at all. It was outside so who knows about the dreadmill but 3.15mi with lots of terrible hills lol no pain at all.

    An alternative to strapping is a compression sock, its eaiser as its actually hard to strap your own foot properly. It will also help with recovery.
