I have struggled with my weight for several years. I tend to overeat while watching TV, eating salty snacks and drink alcohol. I'd like to lose 10 lbs. in the next two months. Can you help?

Try turning off the TV.3

You have created a dynamic where watching tv triggers your desire to eat, so that habit has to be undone. You can make a rule for yourself that there will be no eating in front of the tv - that if you want something, you have to sit at the dining room table, and eat whatever it is that you want from a proper place setting of plate and cutlery. Often the inconvenience of this allows the habit to subside pretty quickly!! Its like no smoking in the house - you have to go outside in all weather to smoke. Lots of people I know have just decided that this is too much (think Canadian winter). Or while watching tv, get up and do exercise during the commercials - a few jumping jacks, a few situps - whatever. Or get an exercise bike and pedal your *kitten* off watching tv! Get creative and expect results! Good luck!2
