I have been eating well and exercising for the last couple of weeks. Except this last weekend :( Not that I went crazy, but a little bit. I didnt have as many veggies as usual. Also on Sunday I went to the movies and had popcorn and pop and then to a Bday party and had a small piece of cake and ice cream. So my question is.... Could this cause stomach cramps, bloating, and my stomach feels full even before I ate? And its 2 days later.

If you have been eating very clean and then dumping all that stuff on your stomach could definitly cause your stomch to get upset. I find that popcorn does that to me now. It has a lot of fiber in it and I already eat a lot of fiber. So I have to be careful when I eat popcorn!
  • It def could have to do with it, especially if you've been really good the last few weeks. Your body is not used to the salt (popcorm) and extra calories. Just like it takes time for your body to get used to eating healthy...it takes time to adjust after eating unhealthy. It will adjust again.

IF you completely went off of how your body was used to eating, yes it could. I didn't have fast food for almost 10 weeks, one day, I caved with a friend and I was sick for almost 4 days. The foods we eat impacts us more than we know. Give it another day or two and if you are still having those issues, go see your doc. Remember though if your body was not used to the "junk" it's trying to push it through your system. You may find that you need to "detox" for a day or two. Double/Triple your water intake and stay away from the high carb items (breads/pasta... etc) I have to do it when I have a moment of weakness, but it takes me about a week to recover because of certain health problems.

Good Luck to you, sometimes junk food isn't all that bad, but when our bodies aren't used to it, we have to "pay" for eating bad.
  • It's funny that when you were eating junk on a regular basis it didn't bother your stomach but now that you are eating better having junk really upsets your stomach. I used to eat fast food pretty regularly and it never bothered my stomach, now if I have it once and I feel sick all day!

Too much proceessed food does that to me, too. And, I've had it last 2-4 days, depending on what I ate. During this time, I basically "force feed" myself small amounts of healthy foods until things return to normal. Another thing that can help for some people is Papaya Enzymes (chewable tablets - found at most health/natural foods stores).

I agree!! I think thats why I am so surprised my body is reacting this way!

Thank you all for your input!! Maybe I will think twice about what I eat if this is how I have to pay for it ;)
