This challenge has really worked for me. Instead of gaining weight over the holidays, I was able to lose and get a jump start on the usual January resolution to get my weight down. It was hard to skip out on my favorite holiday goodies and give up wine. Exercising has been a big part of reaching my first goal. My BMI is back in "normal" range and my old wardrobe is "new again." Looking around for a new weigh-in challenge since posting seems to be a little extra motivation and I don't feel alone in working toward a goal. You have all inspired me.

    Well, that was interesting!
Thanks to you all for being part of this because knowing there was a group of accountability buddies here, sharing and working in the same project, was really helpful to stay focused on the goal.
That said, did not meet my goal, but this is the first time I've ever set a weight loss goal, ever. I've always just changed some lifestyle habit, eating pattern, and then checked on it in a few months. But now that I'm only 10-15 lbs from my 'holy mackerel I'm totally fit!' weight, I wanted to keep better tabs on numbers and unconscious comfort snacking.
My highest weight was somewhere around 250, and I've bounced up and down between 170-190 for a long time. I'm excited that since I've taken it seriously (last 4 months), ive lost that stubborn 10! Lbs! Which I could never get off. And i can see my abs!

I've learned weight will bounce all over, dramatically at times, with water fluctuations, but that I should not let myself get extra dehydrated on Sunday night because I have to weigh in on Monday morning!

If this challenge continues into another quarter, I'm in! Thanks everyone! Keep working at it!

    HOLIDAY WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE 2016
    (November December January)

    CHALLENGE STARTING WEIGHT: 148.0 (11/3)

11/07/16: 147.4 :# down for the count with a stomach bug today - I'll eat anything I can, which isn't much
11/14/16: 146.0 :) been doing some shopping in my closet, finding "new" stuff to wear!
11/21/16: 145.6 :| [they need a half smiley] Any loss is a good loss during TOM's visit - I'll take it.
11/28/16: 143.6 :D YAY - managed to keep the ball rolling through the first holiday hurdle
12/05/16: 142.0 [think I forgot to post last week
12/12/16: 144.0 :s oops! those extra margaritas and nachos last night (and lack of sleep) are hanging on
12/19/16: 143.2 Too much "fun" over the weekend showed on the scale this morning, or this would have been better ... oh well
12/27/16: 144.2 Enjoyed the Christmas food fest a bit too much - hopefully that will drop off fairly quickly
01/03/17: 141.0  Scale moving back in the right direction after the 2-week food fest
    01/09/17: out of town
    01/16/17: 140.2 :D slowly but surely ...
01/23/17: 140.2 Can't complain - stayed flat even though I was traveling thru the weekend
01/27/17: 137.4 :D SO CLOSE! OK, this is my WI before leaving town on 1/27 - I know I'll put some of that back on this weekend!

WEIGHT LOSS FOR THE WEEK: -2.8
GOAL WEIGHT LOSS FOR TOTAL CHALLENGE: The final 13 lbs
    GOAL WEIGHT RANGE: 135
ULTIMATE WEIGHT LOSS GOAL: 135 (comfortable size 8)

WOW!! I'm actually starting to think I might get there!!

For everyone that keeps bouncing up/down/up/down, stick with it. You can do it - Believe in yourself. It may just be a small tweak that you need to get that scale moving. These weekly check-ins have helped me tremendously. Sure, I've recorded my weight weekly for many years on a spiral notepad kept hidden in the bathroom drawer ... BUT WHEN YOU PUT IT HERE, where people can SEE it, there's something that tells your brain to get off it's butt and get it's *@&$ together and DO something. Off in search of the next accountability challenge - who's with me? We can do this!

ANY CHANCE THAT THIS CHALLENGE WILL BE CONTINUED? I REALLY LIKE THE LENGTH AND IT GIVES AN EXCELLENT OVERVIEW OF WEIGHT LOSS/GAIN PATTERNS. THANK YOU @poppigirl FOR GETTING US STARTED! :)

Was wondering about a new challenge myself. They really help me to keep centered and not stray too far off track. Haven't "seen" @poppigirl in a bit, but I'll be happy to start a new thread.
