I am 5'3 and need to lose 50-60lbs. My biggest problem is bored eating and nighttime snacks. Any tips would greatly appreciated !!

I'm 5'2" on a good day lol. I was the same way! I started bringing only healthy lunch and snacks to work so no matter what I ate it was at least good for me. At work I eat light so I can eat with my family without going over my calorie allowance. I measure EVERYTHING so I can visualize what an actual serving size is. I had an issue eating too much and feeling uncomfortable. Now I can eat less and get full sooner and I just be sure to stop eating when I get to that point! ☺

Stop bored eating and nighttime snacks, that go over your calorie goal. Save some calories for an evening dessert, pre log it and look forward to it.

I'm 5'3 too, but I need to lose another 81 lbs. I'm keeping healthy lower-calorie options around for snacking, like Skinny Pop popcorn, string cheese, fruit, and veggie dogs. (I have more of a salt tooth than a sweet tooth, though I do have my favorite desserts).

Don't deprive yourself of stuff you like. Make it fit your calories. A treat doesn't have to be a cheat. By the same token, if there are foods that you really can't keep around without finishing the whole thing at one sitting, try buying single servings or taking one portion and freezing the rest. (Note: if ice cream is one of those foods, go with single serve. Freezing won't save you. :D )

I make a lot of low-calorie desserts, but I look for ones that don't skimp on taste. Fruit sorbets. There are a number of compots or cooked fruit in syrup that come in at under 150 calories. I've found some decent cakes where some of the oil is replaced with apple sauce. Nothing decadent-tasting, but certainly good enough that when I'm entertaining, people who aren't dieting come back for seconds.

Anyway for a night time snack: raw celery dipped in low cal ranch dressing combined with salsa. Measure out the dressing so you don't go over calories. Salsa is low cal and celery is very very low cal.

That sounds horrible. How about a pint of halo top ice cream for 240 calories?

Well whatever you personally like, but I really enjoy the celery and the dip I make. Everyone has different taste.
