Interested in reading studies on a couple topics

Two i am interested in are about How VLCD can lead to lean muscle loss over time and one explaining how people with very little weight to lose can take an extremely long time to lose those couple pounds due to such a small deficit.

I heard the very wise people here in debates usually have good resources for these things :) Thanks

I have been a subscriber of Alan Aragon's AARR (Alan Aragon Research Review) since maybe 2008? I can't be sure. Alan is the 800 pound gorilla in terms of analyzing and critiquing the studies being put out on weight loss and exercise performance and has maintained his service for as long as I've been interested in it...a decade or more. I do have to let you know that it's a paid subscription...but well worth it if you're someone interested in the most current research.

If you want to narrow things down to the very specific topics of VLCD vs muscle loss over time, and especially the rate of weight loss in extremely lean individuals, you'll find your answers in a combination of anecdotal logic, and the studies available on other individuals that might not fit your target mode. It's not profitable to do studies on bikini models, and if you're pursuing a PHD in such a niche field of extreme calorie deficiency, it's likely to get no sponsorship...so very little people actually study the condition of the "extremely fit".
