Have come home from work ill. Sore stomach, aches all over, headache. I have managed 327 out of my 1200 cal goal - I am not hungry at all.
Should I force food down to reach goal???

Don't force yourself to eat when you're sick. You're sick. Have some fluids (if you think you can keep them down) and get some rest.9

When you're sick, you're sick. Don't be silly8

Drink plenty of water and jus calm down.4

If you're not hungry, don't force yourself. I made that mistake 2 weeks ago (forced myself to eat when I had no appetite and felt "off") and spend the night in the bathroom paying for it. If you're truly ill, the last thing your body needs to food to digest. As the above poster said, just drink plenty of fluids.1

No.
Having one or two days eating very little (especially when you're sick) will not hurt you. The recommendations about minimum calorie levels are for your average intake - not "you must do this every single day or else".
When you're sick, listen to your body. If all it wants is soup (or crackers or whatever), that's fine.2 -
No, you're sick. Let your body do its thing to get you better.0

You are ill. You cannot stick to calorie goals when you are ill, in either direction. You need to prioritise getting better. Your fitness goals can wait for that.1

One of the reasons why we don't feel like eating when we are sick is because it helps starve out whatever bug is causing the problem. Forcing yourself to eat can slow your recovery time.1

I agree with the others. If you don't feel like eating, don't eat. Make sure you get plenty of fluids, though.0

Low sodium broth/soups if you can handle them or at least liquids. Not hungry, don't eat, especially if it may make you feel more sick.0

Listen to your body. Rest and keep hydrated.
Feel better soon!0 -

Never heard of this. Got anything to support this theory?1 -
Try to stay hydrated--once you are feeling better you will likely be starving and want or need to make up those calories anyway. And you should! Your body will need the fuel at that point to finish healing. Aim for your weekly calorie target this week rather than the daily one once you're feeling better.0
