Grandfather looking for friends to help me with this long-overdue journey.

I'm an over-70 grandfather with weight issues that are causing some mobility and breathing issues. When I got married 50 years ago I weighed about 95 pounds less than I do today. At my age, I doubt that I could (or should) get back to that weight, but I'm trying to lose about 70 pounds through diet, light stretching exercises, and walking as much as my aching joints will allow. I have been on MFP for 40+ days and have lost about 13 pounds. I would appreciate any active friends who can help keep me motivated so I can have many more years with my family and see my grandchildren grow up.

In particular, I'd like some friends who have successfully lost weight while still consuming alcoholic beverages in moderation. I've totally cut out alcohol for several months previously, but that didn't do much and my social circle does drink when we get together. Realistically, totally quitting drinking isn't something that I feel I could commit to for the long term.

I'm a grandmother! Yep, I want to live as long as possible for my grandchildren. Add me, I'll be here awhile.
