MFP or FitBit?

Hello, I have a simple question (i think); should i track exercise that is not auto tracked by my FitBit through the FitBit app or the MFP app?
I swim regularly so need to add this in. I have read my forums/discussions and I was completely confused. But last night the penny finally dropped and the 'calorie adjustment' finally made sense.
However, when I put my swimming into FitBit, it calculates to 103 cals burnt, whereas MFP gave me an extra 187.
Also, if I add it to MFP, I see the swimming show up in FitBit. But when done the other way round, it only shows up as a single calorie adjustment. - no matter how many exercises FitBit tracks, does this only show up as a single calorie adjustment, not an adjustment for each exercise?
Which app should I use to track swimming?
I don't know why they had to make this so confusing. Kind of regretting buying the FitBit now. Just causing me a headache trying to be healthy
Thank you for your help,
Sam

I personally log additional exercise through Fitbit. I don't care about having status updates like, "neldabg burned x amount of calories doing xyz," so I don't see the need to log exercise here on MFP. Yes, FitBit only transfers calorie adjustments for total activity done in a day. Idk myself why actual records of exercise don't transfer the other way around.
I often read that MFP overestimates burns, so it might be a good idea to believe FitBit. If you find that you are losing too fast, then adjust the predicted burn manually as needed.1 -
thanks for the clear, straight forward answer neldabg
that makes sense. TBH, i couldn't understand why some forums were telling me to track some exercise thorugh MFP when I've just spent all this money on something which was supposed to be a specialist at it!
Will see how it goes.1 -
Trust fitbit. I always lose 100-150 extra calories overnight with MFP.1

I have a garmin and it does the same thing as far as tracking . Your exercise will show up as each activity in the exercise screen on MFP but it just combines them under the news feed (agreed that this ins not necessary). MFP does post the calories burned correctly that are provided by garmin.1
